And..........all three are 4* recruits. Why couldn't only one of them have been a 4* recruit? Cotman is the one that hurts me more than the Gaddy brothers. However, Breyon Gaddy was the #19th ranked overall DT so up there pretty high. 2 of the 3 were pretty big losses we have here.

I know we're also going to make room for more recruits to come but the recruiting status is not looking good. I think it's mostly to do with a combination of going 8-4 when we were supposed to be contenders + losing to both USCe & Vandy.

We really need to get Trey Smith but I have to admit my confidence in getting him now is lowering too. Yes, he's a level headed & smart young man but what just happened to our football program is reality & not fantasy. I'm sure he's having 2nd thoughts about coming to UT now.

It's going to be interesting after NSD as to what kind of class CBJ can pull out. I honestly don't think it's going to be too good now. Maybe top 20 or top 25 at worse but I definitely don't think we jump into the top 10 unless there is some shockers. Top 10 is where we need to be each recruiting cycle to get us back to program prestige.

It's amazing how much you post on here about recruiting yet know almost nothing. It's the grades on the Gaddy brothers maybe your VIP subscription works better if you actually read it...

Exactly. Back in the day schools could sign and place. You can't do that anymore as all signees count toward the limit.

This is a week when a lot of recruiting stuff shakes out.

Come on Tony. All were not 4 stars and the twins are likely to go the JUCO route. The more you post, the more I understand why you post as Bologna.

Outside of a few posters, the recruiting forum is by far the most logical side of Volnation.

I hate that the football forum is more active with more senseless chicken little dribble.

Don't know why I even strayed over there.

I am very interested in seeing what DTs we pull. The athletes will come.

Are there any names for possible DT replacements in this class? We need depth at DT bad, but I'm struggling to come up with any names of guys that we're in on.

Forgot all about ol' Rutger Reitmair, but Conliffe is a new one to me. Both look like solid DT's, that would be nice to go along with Bennett and Crosby in this class. That's assuming Crosby sticks, heard from a VT buddy that he's hearing "Tennessee and Crosby could part ways".

They all three were 4* composite from 247 Sports. Go take a look now & find out for yourself. Edit: I'm sorry Brandon was a 3* recruit. My bad. That's still two out of 3 that were 4* recruits that we lost in one day.

The Gaddy twins were always going to be a risk. Never had the grades and probably didn't do enough this year to make up what was needed to become eligible. We could have used their beef though.

Everyone knew this class was going to change before NSD. Lets just hope it gets upgraded in the next couple of months.

8 lost years since Fulmer was pushed out to "improve" the program. What have we gotten since then? Mediocrity. . Hope all those that drove this changes happy with our situation now.

It's really sad that their teachers, parents, support system, etc. can't help these keeps or provide the necessary academic resources to help them get to college. Hope they find another way.

We've gotta make like Bama and keep firing/hiring until we strike gold. Other than Stallings who lasted 6 years based on a NC, Bama did not keep anyone more than four seasons between Bryant and Saban. That is the freaking secret of all of this. Don't ever settle, ever, never ever, no, don't do it. Right now we are settling.
