If they don't study for school, they probably wouldn't do much film study either. Guys can give it all on the field.. but it's the hard work off the field that gives you an edge. We need guys with football intelligence.. or at least the discipline to develop it.

We've gotta make like Bama and keep firing/hiring until we strike gold. Other than Stallings who lasted 6 years based on a NC, Bama did not keep anyone more than four seasons between Bryant and Saban. That is the freaking secret of all of this. Don't ever settle, ever, never ever, no, don't do it. Right now we are settling.

For us, considering the dominance of one program, the current litmus should be '4 years and no SECCG appearance as the Eastern Division representative, there is the door.' I think it's fair. Butch should've hit that mark twice already and his own mistakes caused him to come up short. Why do we want to give him a third shot at a choke job? Let's just thank him for getting the roster back up to a respectable base level at most positions and move on.

Yep. Settling big time.

And the coaches are getting such large payouts if they get canned that they can't possibly lose. Why would you ever guarantee Butch a large payout when he has done NOTHING yet in the SEC. Better than Dooley? Yeah, a bit but still miles from what this school expects or deserve.
