Galaxy S5

That's how verizon is with manufacturers. They have to have their logo on it, or they won't do it. Except on the iPhone.

Any time I get a new phone, it always seems to run hot for 4-5 days then it calms down.

Just noticed that this thread existed. I switched to the s5 from an iPhone 4s a month ago. Very satisfied with the change.

My upgrade is coming in August, will either go back to android with the GS5 or the new note........when does the new note come out?

I have the s5 and I wished I would have waited for the new iPhone that comes out near the end of the year. S5 is nice but nothing special. I switched from iPhone to this. The only thing that really set itself apart is the camera. S5 is #1 in the industry right now. Imo

Still very happy with my S5.........thought I would have all kinds of issues after a month or so.................

I still have my s5 pretty much setup as it was by default. I made some shortcuts to the most used apps on the first few pages. Are there any tweaks that I absolutely should make?

Not really. There are customizable "home" apps like Nova Launcher, Go Launcher, and a few others that you can mess around with. They have different screen changing animations and settings, if you care about that kind of stuff.

So I've noticed on the Nexus 5 it doesn't turn on the screen when I receive a message. I'm guessing a different messaging app would solve that.

Also this phone doesn't appear to have visual voicemail. I'm using my Google Voice voicemail for now.

hellosms

So on the S5/Android, when you are searching images on google and turn the phone to landscape, does it shrink the image even smaller?

That drives me nuts on my iphone.

They do not. Though on the iPhone I just load the image using the options button.

Hmmm... pretty shady for google to sub optimize for iphone.

I know how to load the full image but that isn't efficient for quick browsing when you need the perfect meme. 😝

I like my iPhone 5, but recently wondered about switching if only to have something different. I wish there was an objective website that compared the very top phones, feature by feature, without any pro or anti apple/android bias.

Althouth I still have unlimited data with AT&T and I'm sure if I switched from Iphone I would lose that.

You shouldn't lose it.

Cnet is pretty unbiased

The one thing I like about the iphone, at it is my quirk, is I know exactly what the top iphone is. If I get the iphone 6, I know I am getting the best iphone out there. Android? Not really sure...is it the S5 and the various versions, HTC One, LG...that's where it gets confusing for someone completely unfamilar with android.

So you like being limited to 1 choice?

Cnet is unbiased but rushes their reviews. There have been some phones that aged poorly that they've given glowing reviews for.

And no, ATT does not force anybody out of unlimited data for upgrading, regardless of phone.

But the unlimited was part of the "iphone plan" when they first released the phone. If I get rid of the iphone, they won't try to take my unlimited?
