Just got my Galaxy s5 last night. So far I'm loving it. Upgraded from a Droid Razor X. Only thing I miss is the Smart Actions AP that came on the Razor. I've searched and not found anything close to what that AP could do.

i seem to be in the minority, but i'm switching FROM android to iphone in october. I'm just tired of the lag on the last 3 android phones i've had (droid x, razr, razr maxx) I've had to factory reset them several times just to get a few weeks of somewhat decent functionality.

That's because those 3 phones you named were Motorolas.

For the Samsung gurus:

What are the major functional differences between an S3 and an S4 or S5?

Every one is going to give you a bump in processing speed, screen quality, battery life, camera resolution, etc. Getting a phone that's older than a year generally isn't a good idea if you're planning on having it last two years. Unless you really want that waterproof, S4 is a solid phone.

Thanks for the input, Milo.

have an s4 through work. enjoy it as a work phone. not so sure i could deal with bubbly software and clicks everywhere on a daily basis. although i love the speed lf galaxy s series. i used an s3 likewise to s4, and have firsthand with s5.

S5 is really at a great price right now. its a monster handset with great specs. only drawback is internal storage space. if i were to use an android it would be a nexus model. all that 'gobbldy goop' verizon puts in there natively has to go.

My S5 is delivered tomorrow

Pick mine up on Sunday.

Already ordered a case in hopes it will beat the phone to me.

I have little doubt my various cases have saved me thousands over the years...bit of a klutz when it comes to handling phones.

Speaking of cases, I'm a huge proponent of the Spigen Tough Armor cases. I have one for my iPhone 5S (I'm about done with Apple, but that's for another post), and I ran over it with a office chair with my fat a** in it, and it was fine. I used to have an Otterbox, and I like this a lot better. A lot easier to get out of my pocket.

I also have the glass screen protector. Feels just like the iPhone screen, but if it cracks, I can peel it off. Here's the link to the S5 case.

Glad you mentioned that, I actually ended up ordering a Spiegen. Very similar in that I'd had Otterboxes up until now, but Spiegen seemed to have a lot of small details I appreciated.

Glass screen protector, eh?

Yeah, My wife thought I was crazy, but I like it better than the normal ones because it still feels like the regular screen.....and yes, I say eh :hi:

I'll be damned. I overlooked them thinking they were just the normal screen covers.

Were they hard to put on?

Nope, just like a normal protector....except if you jack it up, you can't take it off w/o cracking it, so I took it VERY slow

My bad on the 'eh?' deal, didn't register until I looked at your screen name. I have a habit of adding that to a question. My sister lived in Victoria for 3 years and had a good friend that had from moved to BC from Alberta. I was about 15 at the time and about died the first time he said "eh?"

Crazy, I grew up in Alberta, and it still slips out from time to time. My wife calls me out on it every time I say it, or any other Canadian sounding word.
