Galaxy S5

Crazy, I grew up in Alberta, and it still slips out from time to time. My wife calls me out on it every time I say it, or any other Canadian sounding word.

Guy in our office is from Ontario. He's lived in the South for almost 20 years now, but every once in a while he'll slip up and sound just like Terrance and Phillip.

Does he still have his completely unhinged jaw? I think that's our most noticeable trait :)

In my case, I had to actually call apple care to get it resolved. Huge problem on Apple's end.

So my S5 has horrid battery life. Unplugged for about 30 minutes and not being used and it's down 6%. Is that normal?

Might be service. Might be a few other things. If its Sprint its probably network issues.

Gsam battery is a good app that helps track battery life and show whats using it. I used it a lot when working in service centers to what was firing and find apps here and there getting hung or causing wake locks.

Whoa. I mowed my yard while streaming a sports talk show for 90min, made a couple 5 minute calls and I've been surfing around on mine off and on most of the night. Still just down to 59%

Battery is sooooooooomuch better from my S3.

No need to kill apps.

Uninstall/disable what you can that you won't use, and just let it ride. It's got 2.5GHz quad core and 3gb RAM. It can handle some mobile apps.

Mine ran hot and went through the battery quickly, and intermittently for the first week until I had everything dialed in, then it was all good.

Also, it would drop from 100% to 95% quickly but then go for quite a while after that. I honestly don't pay much attention to battery percentage, it realistically doesn't tell you much.

I upgraded to the S5 from a Droid Razr, and love it. The size is perfect, with better resolution and more vibrant colors. The battery lasts way longer than my old phone did; I can charge it in the evening and then go 24 hours until plugging it in again. I mostly use it for Facebook and Twitter (and the occasional call or text).

My wife has an iPhone and likes it, but the screen size is too small for my tastes.

Copped the new HTC One. S5 is still probably the better phone for 90% of smartphone users, but I personally like the One. I'm more partial to the true Android experience, I always have music playing via my phone (headphone preamp and speakers are insane, definite improvement over the 1st gen One).

what troubles did you have with your iphone(s)? looking at switching from razr maxx to iphone because of lag.

I had a few android phones (htc one s, galaxy s2) and they were all very glitchy and lagged over time. Almost a year now with my iPhone 5c and it still works like it's brand new. I will NEVER switch back.

Motorola is your problem. HTC, Samsung and LG will all leave the iPhone in the dust.

As for the Galaxy SII and HTC One S, those phones are contemporaries of the iPhone 4S. That was three years ago, which is an eternity with smartphones. I'll agree, Apple made arguably the better product at the time, but that's no longer the case.

My parents have the S3 and the S4 and the glitch is still there. And these are people that don't play games, download many apps, etc..

There's only 1 winner, and it's Apple. I didn't believe that until I made the switch a year ago.
