Game against West Virginia in Charlotte coming?

It was rumored that Tennessee was looking at playing a game in Charlotte when they announced that Tennessee would open the 2015 season in Nashville against UAB.

Yea, come on over the weather is fine, except hot in September. What about a night game? Stadium not too big.

I bet WVU fans will be hoping that this game ends in a tie so they can have another excuse to kiss their sisters.

I like this over an Oregon or Oklahoma matchup but i wish the places were reversed (playing wvu this year and Oklahoma down the road)
Then again i understand that scheduling in advance is challenging

If this is about recruiting, I say we start playing somebody in Atlanta every year. We need north Georgia more than even the state or Tennessee.

Don't be surprised if we don't as again there were rumors when the UAB Nashville game was announced that Tennessee was looking at playing in Atlanta in 2016 or 2017.

It just happens that the new Falcons stadium is expected to open in 2017! :good!:

OMG..my in-laws are from WV and always talk trash to me about my Vols. This is GREAT news... As long as we win. Lol

WVU fans talk trash about everyone!! Try living up here and hearing it all the time. So wish this was a home and home, but any game will do.

I know, right?! As if they've ever won ANYTHING lol. Seriously though, how do they recruit even 2* players? Place is a $hi+hole and I've got no idea why anyone would actually want to move there.

And isn't The Ferg a Dooley commit?? So he Jones didn't "get him out of there" he was already coming. North is fuzzy here too but have a feeling he was a UT lean or commit prior to CBJ too.

Everyone that signed in the 2013 class is a Jones kid. He could have pulled their offers if he didn't want them. It happened to others. Most of them looked around after your boy Dools was canned and had to be re-recruited to UT (Sutton). Ferg may have committed to Dooley, but he signed with Jones. And, IMO, there's no chance that North signs if Dooley is still here - and UT likely loses 8 games for the first time ever.

woo hoo -- shaves a lot of time off my football commute. IMO will be a big plus in recruiting, that has to sting UNC and USC big time for us to make a splash geographically in that region. Could you imagine UNC trying to get a neutral game in Nashville or Memphis?.

Still hoping for a home & home with Utah State. I know the stadium isn't that big, but we were willing to go to UConn, There are some players out here that could be recruited. Bama did pick up a 5* QB from here in Salt Lake City. :good!:

I think it's a good idea. Tell some of those NC prospects that they will get a chance to play in front of their home town crowd. It would be huge.

As for playing in Atlanta every year...just win the East and that will take care of itself.

Ok bud. Did u read how the guy worded it?? The guy stated that CBJ went in to UNC and has been successful because he pulled the Ferg. Do u see where that's an inaccurate statement?? This has nothing to do with my beliefs on the Dooley era. It has to do with what is the truth which people like u don't like to pass along due to whatever reason. UT was where he wanted to go more than playing for CBJ. Be it that he loves the school and/or Dooley sold the school more than himself.

Also, ur a fool if u really think that CBJ would pull an elite 11 4* QBs scholly when he's needing to spend a lot of time recruiting other positions.

1. CBJ went into NC and has been successful because he pulled the high 4* (rightfully 5*) receiver who almost single-handedly saved us from a 4-8 season and the under-the-radar CB who looks to be starting as a freshman. Has nothing to do with Ferg, who we've never even seen play.
2. I don't give much of a rip about stars, but Ferg was only rated 4* by one service and was a consensus 3* per 247 composite. Jones thought he could play and didn't pull his offer. He easily could have.
3. Really? You sure about that? Because Jones apparently cared so much about the QB position that he went out and recruited ANOTHER QB, one who was a consensus 4* Elite 11. Fool's an awfully strong word to be calling someone, especially when you're wrong.

I'm not a big fan of neutral site games. We have arguably the best venue in college football. I say play in it as much as possible

I like the idea of playing WV, but Charlotte is a boring city. The NASCAR hall of fame is about the only thing to do there.

You must be into some pretty crazy exciting stuff if you think charlotte is boring there iceman
