Game Thread: (#11/10) Lady Vols 68 - Kansas 58

KJH is making a lot of substitutions that does not seem to favor the Lady Vols. She had a bunch of bench players in when Kansas went on a 12 zip run. The starter were not in foul trouble and the only starter during this period of time was Walker. I feel for Rennie, but she is no help for the Lady Vols on either side of the ball.

Looking at the box score, it seems like Key didn't do much in the first half even though she played 11 minutes. This is particularly bad since their big girl went out about two minutes into the game with two fouls and will be back in the second half. Doesn't sound like we were able to take advantage of it.

Key needs to step up in the second half.

Kellie subbed the freshmen in together way too early…gave KU a bit of confidence. With that being said, when Kaia slows down and puts it all together (i.e. Rae) she is going to be something special.

Striplin had 2 pts on 1-2 shooting to go with 2 rebounds in only 2 minutes of play. Might deserve some extra minutes in second half.

Who is not closing out on their 3-point shooter? Need to cheat on her side and always be aware where she is.

Radio makes it sound like offensive flow is better despite horrid shooting, but only 6 assists not so great. Still better than Kansas.

This looks like a game that the coach is trying to figure out who else can play as when we play for real I see maybe 8 player rotation without Rae. This is ugly and hard to believe that this is the same team. What happened last night? lol Go Big Orange

She’s the only one who can find the basket. She actually looks good. This is a great opponent for her to showcase her skill set against.

There was one play where Walker tried to draw a charge but didn’t get the call and couldn’t get up in time to find the shooter.

These kinds of games drive me nuts, hate to see us let the other team back in the game, but our subs need the practice, so as long as we win, I’m good with it all.

I mean come on. You have a team that is struggling with their field goal percentages and offense in general. They're in a live game situation and instead of taking the opportunity to work on the offense, and get the ball where it needs to go efficiently, Kellie decides to play everyone like we are winning by 40 and play people who haven't seen court time against tougher competition 5 minutes into the game. Most teams this year have the ability to get hot at any time more than they ever have. If they were to lose this game, I would put it squarely on the coaches!

Yeah, that was mystifying. But we don't have anyone who is a good free throw shooter thus far this year I guess so there's not much to choose from.

if a player goes out i’m pretty sure the opposing coach gets to choose the shooter.
