Game thread: #11 Lady Vols host Georgia. Sunday, March 2, Noon ET, SECN

Been following the game on stats, then on radio.

"Sounds like" the LVs have been moving the ball around and taking not-bad shots... shots just are off today, team-wide.

Y'all that are watching the game: Is that accurate? Or are these not good shots they're taking?
I would say most of the 3s have been open just not falling. However, our layups are just being thrown at the hoop and mostly missing rim. Not much of a mid-range game to this point.

The defense is allowing to much penetration, we got to get in front of the person bringing the ball into the paint. We have to pick up and cut off lead ball handler better. We opened the game with sloppy passing. We have to rebound better, too much standing around there.
In other words play defense

Our D plays off of our O making buckets and getting set up in the press to get teams out of kilter. If you are missing everything for the first 5 minutes of the game the teams whole D premise is out the window. This D depends on us scoring and a lot of that scoring comes off turnovers after setting up after scores that are not happening on a usual basis. JMO.
Their plan was totally to clog the paint and well we made something like 4 of 19 from the three so there you go. Going to have to work for a good shot and not try to hustle one up in 15 seconds.

Yeah, that slinging of layups is apparently something that is tolerated and not coached out of them.

Spencer shooting free throws the way she does shows what will be tolerated in the women's game.

They are getting paid and need to be professional in honing their craft now.

We’ve taken 19 shots and we’re 1-12 on 3s, shooting 10.5% from the field. Teams have their number now and Kim doesn’t have a plan b

Spencer has thrown up some desperate looking shots for some reason. Not end of shot clock just forcing it and that's not her usual MO.

Missing threes is all mental. They have had good looks. We just don't have a post game to fall back on and they are clogging the lane to stop the drives.

Spencer's 3 pt shot abandoning her has hurt a lot. And some of the others shouldn't be taking them.

They can win the game if...
they take the press off, and play each possession straight up. Georgia is the team that scored 26 points, over the entire game, vs Texas. They can be held to 20 points or less, in the second half.
But the press has to go.
hopefully kim realizes this.

Tough to go into this half without Cooper and with Ruby having 3 fouls. But we are still way more talented than them.
