I'm pretty impressed, to be honest. To stay that competitive for 40 minutes on the road against the #1 team in the country, with basically only one practice day to prepare to play without Horston, and especially with how deflated we looked in that stretch after the Keyen Green injury...a sign we can really still do some good things. Massey had us losing this one 66-53 (only 1 point off!) and that would presumably be with a healthy Horston.
No other team in the nation has the length and size of South Carolina. Burrell, Darby, and Puckett can shoot better than they showed today against SC's defenders. If we can figure out our rebounding a little better moving forward (our box-outs today were very good but 1) SC was too tall and 2) it seemed like there was a lack of communication at times about who would go get the ball with Horston out), the rest of the regular season games are totally winnable.
Edit: Other positives are that this is the most aggressive I think we've seen Key be since the Green injury. Also might have been Kaiya Wynn's best game yet and it was on the biggest stage.
