Game Thread: (12/8) Lady Vols 53 - (1/1) South Carolina 67

I think the refs should start wearing Fake Eye lashes so they could call the game from a player perspective.Cut down on the bright light glare get more calls right. It should be a rule LOL.

SC shot worse than we did this game (SC 32.1% - LV's 33.3%)
We lost because we got killed on the boards (SC 31 offensive rebounds ! and 29 Defensive. We had 17 O and 21 D). That's an overall 60-38 advantage. And that's why they had 13 more fga's.
Difficult to overcome unless we shoot a lot better.

I'm pretty impressed, to be honest. To stay that competitive for 40 minutes on the road against the #1 team in the country, with basically only one practice day to prepare to play without Horston, and especially with how deflated we looked in that stretch after the Keyen Green injury...a sign we can really still do some good things. Massey had us losing this one 66-53 (only 1 point off!) and that would presumably be with a healthy Horston.

No other team in the nation has the length and size of South Carolina. Burrell, Darby, and Puckett can shoot better than they showed today against SC's defenders. If we can figure out our rebounding a little better moving forward (our box-outs today were very good but 1) SC was too tall and 2) it seemed like there was a lack of communication at times about who would go get the ball with Horston out), the rest of the regular season games are totally winnable.

Edit: Other positives are that this is the most aggressive I think we've seen Key be since the Green injury. Also might have been Kaiya Wynn's best game yet and it was on the biggest stage.

Effort and fight was there just couldn't finish and put the ball in basket. If Dye can bring this attack mode against other teams she will help us win some more games. Again love the energy and fight and the most frustrating thing is they didn't have that in losses to Bama and Auburn. In CHRIST Alone

It's been entertaining.
Lady Vols played hard. Not always smart, but hard

We are a few players short of getting back to competitive with power houses at full strength, with a recovering Burrell and losing Green and Horston recently it is going to be inconsistent and tough. Only positive I see today is we only lost the TO battle by 2 (14-12) to a team of this quality playing a lot of good pressure defense.

10% from 3 is being over looked here. Made
1 out of 10 for the day. Missed 7 free throws (10-17)
