Game Thread: (12/8) Lady Vols 64 - Alabama 74

We are not playing with any desire or determination on defense. This Alabama team does not matchup with us at all. If our guards would even attempt to keep their man in front we would have a 10 point lead instead of an 8 point deficit.

Well, we aren't getting any stops, that's for sure. But we are back to facing a team that our guards can't defend their guards in the half-court. We have to have a help defense scheme for the second half.

I don't know who they're going to end up recruiting and signing these next two years, but I pray to heaven they sign some fighters - some trash cleanup types who love to mix it up and take possessions personally.

I’d have BK glued to Davis hip no switching off. Go straight to a box and 1. They can even start the 3rd full court pressing let the team get after Bama and gain some kind of confidence.

We can defend their guards. We are choosing not to. Please remember, they had 44 points TOTAL in the first matchup. They have 38 points in the half today. That’s on us, Bama hasn’t won a game in weeks, they haven’t improved, we have regressed defensively in a big way. Not sure if it’s just lack of desire/chemistry or if our players are so beat up they just can’t go it to the intensity required.

That would have to be Horston & Burrell.
Our short point guards cannot consistently draw the fouls. Instead, they end up in No Gals Land.

Point guard position 0 points tonight. Jordan only 1 of 6. Defense and rebounding awful. Hate to see them loose to another bottom feeder, but you have to play like you care about winning and they are not doing that tonight.

Hard to believe it's a lack of desire. There's so much at stake. As far as the past, Auburn and others exposed our guards as exploitable, and ever since that has been the game plan of other teams. We lack speed. They have speed.

You have to wonder what happened to the defense. Guess Green kept everybody working cause tonight were not getting after it. Just two Bama turnovers and they usually turn it over double digits.

It seems to me that the other team wants it more and if you look closely at the players body language you can tell that we are an emotionally fragile team.

I haven't watched or listened but checked the box score. Your starting 3 guards Walker Darby and Horston 6 points. Enough said . That's terrible. Hopefully they will pick it up this half. In CHRIST Alone

This very average AL team has 3 wins in the SEC. Two over a bad Auburn team and one against Vanda.

This is not about a lack of talent.

For some of the mistakes, I agree, but for the lazy passes, the lack of focus on layups, eh, I don't know that we can pin that stuff on team speed.

Even if UT comes back and wins not looking forward to watching this team get beatdown on National TV. The team was playing really well before the Auburn game. Frustrated as a fan and I guarantee Kellie is pissed watching her team play with little to no effort.
