Anyone know when the last time the men and woman played the same team at home like they do Vandy this week?
I remember the men and Lady Vols playing Candy the same day back when Coach Summitt was still here. I think it was her last year, maybe? All four teams were ranked and TBA was sold out both games. My wife and I came up from SC, stayed at the Crowne Plaza, watched the men’s game from the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame along with about 50 other Vol fans. That was awesome to see. We had tix to the Lady Vols game and that was even better. We wanted to see Coach Summitt in person. I watched her Coach pretty much the whole time. That experience was something I’ll always remember.

We played a really weak floor game last time we played Vanderbilt at their place. Luckily they couldn't hit open shots and ended up shooting a weak percentage. Didn't have much to do with our defensive play that game they just were terrible shooting the ball. In all they got about 20 more shots at the baskets which is hard to give up and win yet we did that game. I look for us to again play the strong defense we played against Missouri and we should be able to score more inside. This gets ugly for Vanderbilt if we play with the same defensive intensity that we played in the Missouri game and rebound on the offensive boards like that game. Only time will tell which Tennessee team shows up, but at home it is usually the good team.

Vandy is awful at shooting the ball a hard team to watch.

Shout-out to Kellie giving Striplin a minute of garbage time at the end of the Missouri game... a game in which her team led by 25 heading into the fourth quarter...

You forgot (?) to mention that MIzzou closed it to 16 during the fourth quarter and ket it under 20 for most of the quarter. All of our starters were in until 90 seconds left. It wasn't a diss of Karo, looked like she wanted to give her starters a lot of court time, maybe to shake off the losing streak. So, exactly when in the fourth quarter should Kellie have taken a starter out to accomodate your desire to see Karo, Coach?

Yes, but this is a team seems to not be able to get a wide enough lead in most games to give the reserves meaningful minutes.

Yeah, that was a precarious 25 point fourth quarter lead last game. Best to leave the starters in until the final minute to preserve the lead in a game that was never in doubt than give those meaningful minutes to less experienced players to develop much-needed post depth...

Anybody that has ever played the game of basketball knows that the team that is behind will pressure the ball , slap , kick , bite , and generally all things possible to try and catch up to the leading team when you are near the end of the game !!!! It is also common knowledge that when the team that is behind to call off the dogs, and let their subs play the rest of the game showing the team in the lead that they recognize the inevitable defeat ! Then the team in the lead will stop trying to beat the losing team any worse and put their substitutes in the game also ! This is good sportsmanship on both teams and their coaches ….EVERYONE KNOWS THIS ……..

Now if the team that’s behind continues to pressure the ball and continue to foul on purpose !!!!! ( (Like the Missouri coach did )!!

Then I would score a go zillion points if I could…😈

Such an astute observation from a Vandy fan... We get it. You. Love. VANDY... which in turns makes disliking the LV easier. SHEESH

I hope we kick their a**. We didn’t finish the job in Nashville. Hope to see us bring the defense and rebounding again. Shut them down early and then enjoy it. Really felt like we got back on track last game. Let’s hope to see that again!!

I think Rae will have a good game tonight. She is due and too good not too. Hope to see her play within the team and hit some big shots. Some Darby from the outside would be great as well. The more confident Tess is the better this team is, she is really spreading the floor right now. Teams have to respect her from outside.
