Trying to be “poised” instead of just playing basketball. Looks a lot like the start of the Auburn game so far. Vandy hitting crossover strep back 3s and we are loafing around on offense.
Moving slower doesn’t mean you’ll turn it over less. Make a move toward the basket and draw the foul. They can’t guard our size in the paint and with the over play they are out of position is you attack their hip.
We did well getting the ball inside earlier in the season but now we can’t. Our timing is off again and Key isn’t as assertive as she needs to be. When she’s open they don’t get her the ball and when they finally do she’s covered.
Vandy isn’t doing anything special on defense, just a traditional full court press, but our players are trying to do fancy dribble (off foot bounces) and passing when there’s no spacing for our players to catch. It’s all our own mistakes for the turnovers thus far. You can’t force it down into Key either, do some penetration and she’ll be open.

This.
Maybe it would be better if we just faked passes to Key, let the defense collapse on her, then pass to someone else for the shot. Let Key, primarily, go for offensive rebounds. At least until we can get the ball into Key safely.
