Game thread: #15/13 Lady Vols at Florida. Sunday, Feb. 23, 1pm ET, SECN

It’s been awhile since I posted I work for UPS and the job is time demanding but I saw todays game and it seems like Cooper is a talent but not as team oriented.a player like her which can break down a defense should look for easier shots from teammates instead of shooting harder shots like she did I haven’t seen her much but I think stats are important to her not necessarily more than winning but winning and having great stats together because she had a lot of open teammates on her drives but chose not to hit the open players and chose difficult shots

Totally cause we got a team that is just not consistent and you never know what they are going to do. Even in that half after building it up to 11 we throw the ball away three straight times and take two terrible shots.
You're right. If they had pulled it back out and not attempted those ill-advised passes, I believe we would have won by 15+. I think Florida scored on all three of those turnovers and the game was suddenly a dog fight. I do love the aggressive play of this team though.

37 point 3rd quarter shows how great it can be. Twice as many 2nd half points as the first half. Another tally mark in the left column and on the road to boot.

Go Lady Vols.
Yes! 21 points in the first 5 minutes of the third quarter! Erasing a nine-point halftime deficit, then... what your said! 🍊 Great win.

She did play well the 3d, but her 1st and 2nd qtrs were the keys to FLA game. We really need consistency fm her
I have no way to check on this but I thought Spear scored three 3s and some other points in the third. Basically carried us in first five minutes of the second half ? And was she scoreless in first half ?

Jewel had one 3-pointer, two three-point plays, and a steal in the big surge in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd Qtr. I don't know her 3rd Q total.

Speaking of 3-point shots, UTsports.com reports that the LVs are nearing their first-ever 50-Trey trio.

Tennessee has never had three players on the same team knock down 50 or more treys in a season, but Tess Darby is now just two away from making that happen. Spear (65) and Samara Spencer (52) are there, and Darby is close with 48 entering the Florida game.
Tess got one 3-pointer, a nice one. So maybe we can break this record against KY.

So like I said in first post on this, in third qtr she had three 3s and some other points. 😂. I did not think she scored in first half though. She looked tired and flustered to me in the first half and came out strong in the second and put the team on her back I thought. She had plenty of third quarter help but she set the tone IMO. Everyone contributed big time in the second half I thought.

Yeah, you would think some of these NEGA’s would learn to slow their roll and cut down on the embarrassing early outbursts. The players can make up for bad play, those posts are loser’s forever.

 You know what, you have every right to use a game thread however you want to. If you want to use it for posting sunny compliments and positive vibes no matter what's happening in the game, go for it. And if you want to use it to constantly reprimand others for the things they post....well, that's fine too.

This is 100% true.
It’s just desperation at this point to try to control a narrative that has long been dead.
That narrative was killed when Tennessee beat UCONN a top-5 team in year 1 of the Coach Caldwell era.
They call things like beating a top 5 team, elite recruiting in 10 months including an elite transfer portal and #1/#2 HS recruiting class sunshine pumping.
Every game these posters take any moment they can no matter how silly it might be to throw out the most asinine comments they can think of and post ridiculous videos from local media to try to critique the head coach, style of play, players etc.
This program in one year has had one of the greatest turnarounds of all-time in the sport and what makes this truly remarkable is it has been done at the greatest WBB program of all-time that was built by a legend Coach Pat Summitt.
