And I think that's fine. But the reason I ask is because I'd like to naysayers to at least either admit that Cooper is the team leader in boneheaded plays, or toss up another option. Otherwise, if we both agree that Cooper is the *lowest* in bball IQ, I think whether she's "low" or merely "medium" in bball IQ would be to miss the point — which is, in spite of her obviously fantastic ball skills, she makes a lot of mistakes that come down to focus/mental. Which is why I use the specific phraseology "underperforming her potential".
To that point, how long would you think it's been since the last time she led the team in plusminus? She's done it zero times this month (Spear has 4 now) and didn't manage it last month either. The last time she topped plusminus was against NCCU! And hasn't done it a single time against P5 competition all season.
Now, unlike Spear during her plusminus disasters (almost always ending negative, often by double digits, even in games where she scores 20+ points!) Cooper is at least net positive for many of these games [tho not always] — but she's never at the top of the chart. And I don't think the reason that our best ball-skill player is rarely the player who propels the team the most is going to be single-faceted, it's a combination of several factors. All of those factors have already been mentioned and strongly argued against, so I won't rehash any of them here: I'm sure people will continue to rehash them for future game threads until she cleans it up. Which is looking doubtful to ever happen, so we just have to take the good with the bad. I'm glad she's on the team, and I don't think any of the people who have lifted criticisms want her gone. It's just that we're all UT fans, and we want her to actually elevate the team as much as she is capable of. We wouldn't have 6 losses if her bad habits had been dealt with in the pre-conference slate.
