Not sure how good the Sooners really are...I am good with calling out coaching deficiencies. Every coach has them. Barnes and Heupel have both had their moments this year.
What I don't understand is hoping the team does poorly to support the agenda for a few on here?
The team did not play well but still won against a Top 25 team. That is a result of good team.

It is predictable, but in this case, true. OK was probably on the way out the ranked door before we beat them, or barely holding on.And does this surprise anyone?

I'm sure not knocking the win, and it does still count as ranked, but we got a little lucky.
Which we richly deserve and need right now.
Are those guards or forwards? Two were McDonald AA before they arrived and all recruited by the last staff. Piggyback isn’t an accomplishment if his forwards aren’t drafted. Kudos to the young ladies, but giving Jon credit is a reach. Which goes back, what does he do.Imagine the outrage if Jon had a "highlight". Overshadowing her! Jon has become a handy metaphor for general disgruntalness.
3 straight first round draft picks. And if there is a basketball god anywhere in the bleak sky, a 4th straight and best yet prospect coming next spring.
That's not nothing for a staff.
The ones that seperate wll be the ones that get consistent production out of almost every player on the team. Right now were not getting that from every player. The players we are getting it from have to stay there and the ones that are underachieving need to step it up. I feel we could seperate as at least a top ten and a two or three seed in the tourney if we can get everyone playing well and Jackson and Key get totally healthy. I like the team a lot if that all happens.Fair point but too many posters are still acting like we are in the early 2000s when the talent gap between the top 10 and everyone else was massive.
Today, even mid major teams like Troy can put a team of really good athletes and decent shooters on the floor. OK has enough talent to, on any given, night, play any team tough (again with possible exception of SC who do seem to be a level above, at least in this point in the season).
Wins are hard won these days and the margins of error are a lot smaller. Uconn is getting spanked around these days. Southern California is a powerhouse again (watch out Stanford).
So, OK is a good team among many "good" teams.
(Beating them without Rickea is noteworthy).
It is just too early to judge which teams are going to separate from good to elite.
Really hard to say about a lot of teams right now especially us with one superstar injured and a player that could make a huge difference still a ways away from total basketball fitness. They were picked to finish 5th in the Big 12 and Massey says they are number 29 right now and will go 20 and 9 in the regular season. Not sure how good the Sooners really are...
I am as close to the program as you can be. and I still have no idea if I'm right or not as for duties for assistants... I always thought it was joy and John post... Kelly point guard and Samantha forwards. But someone said recently samantha was doing guards so I really have no idea nowDo people seriously not know what Jon’s job is? I thought that was a joke… I’m rereading and y’all are serious
She's obviously being brought along very carefully, both for her sake and the liability exposure of the university. Being cleared to play is a long way from being in condition to play or practice fully. You must realize that it takes time to get back into playing shape when you've been de-conditioned for a long time. They're playing it the way they should. If it is like you say she shouldn't be playing at all there would be no future in it. A person with a low ejection fraction or strucural heart damage should not be running at all way to dangerous. I can't see any way they would clear her for any physical activity of such and intense physical sport if her condition is as you specify. If they did then that is certainly medical malpractiice. My post is clear that if she is 100 percent cleared of any medical problems her physical progression seems a bit slow. I am hoping she can get back to where she was because she could have a long basketball career far beyond Tennessee.
I've been ignoring you for a couple of seasons now. So you can no longer blame me for the negative reviews you've been getting from so many in this crowd for your consistently asinine comments.Who wants to tell smartest one in the room they're coming off a win? Despite Hollingshead's performance, which sparked this discussion.
He's right about one thing though, the problems with this team/program go way beyond Jon...
