Game Thread: (5/6) Lady Vols 63 - (13/13) Georgia 55

Emily deserves some playing time going forward. She came in and did a great job on Staiti to buy us some time. She was scoring inside Emily shut that down.

Emily can sleep well tonight! She made the most of her time and Shut. Staiti. DOWN. I’m so proud of her, and wish I could be a fly on the wall for the film session when she gets to see it for herself. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

With Tess, fair refs, we would have won by 15.

And not have what, 8 TO's in 1st qtr. Fortunately they got over that. Maybe they just like to make games a challenge, ha. Kinda ugly wins by both men/women's team this weekend but good news is: they were both big wins and boost the NCAA seeding resumes. No one will care if it was pretty or ugly in March.

Got it together in the second half after 15 first half turnovers only six in the second half. The way we get on the offensive boards anywhere between 12 and 15 turnovers is acceptable. 21 is to many but still not to many for us to win.

This was the best game of Horston's career. Yes or no?

She is starting to reach her potential. If she can play at that level consistently then she can make a claim to being the best in the game. I think it really helped that Horston had to take over the lead role when Rae was out. Now that Rae is back the pressure is off and Horston is just playing more naturally without getting in her own head so much. I don't think that happens without her having to take a leadership role though.

Rae was turnover happy, but it’s because, I think, she’s still working back to her skills before the injury. Also, she hasn’t played significant minutes in any games, so more real minutes will help her handles.

Played 36 minutes and didn't seem tired at all. 1 foul, only 2 turnovers and one of those was bogus. Fantastic defense. 19 points on 19 shots. 5 blocks, 3 steals. 4 assists and 11 rebounds.

She’s very difficult to move once she is set. An asset against a big post like Staiti who wants to bang. I actually think Kellie could have found her some more minutes in this game in the second quarter when Key was out. Emily was a better matchup than Keyen on Staiti.
In closing seconds of game I noticed Kellie went squatting in front of Emily and patting her knee. Loved seeing Kellie use that time to keep coaching!

Sometimes this team can play so sloppy & put some doubts into your mind wondering about'em getting it all together to come out the winner.

Agree, Orange Blood. But ask Tennesse Titans and Green Bay Packers if taking a week off causes a team to get out of sync and lose their rhythm.
