Game Thread: (7/7) Lady Vols 59 - (RV/RV ) Florida 84

I didn't watch or listen. Live Stats is were I got my information. From the post here another game that many were not motivated to play but when pressed to play tried to do to much. Unfortunately in this part of the year that your leadership Horston Walker Burrell upperclassmen guards all show up and lay a stinker you get what you deserve. I expect them to play much better Sunday and get this turned around. Go Lady Vols. In CHRIST Alone

Maybe they should all have to carry a basketball to class until they learn how to protect and take care of it.

Long ride home
I bet it's quiet
Horston will be PO'd, Burrell won't have a clue how much she dribbled & blame the refs, our point guards will ask why the coach didn't yell at them, and Key will hide behind her seat so the stewardess won't call a foul on her.

The teacher needs to find out why the class is not listening and doesn't care
Laughed out loud at the stewardess comment. Key will probably be afraid to breathe on the way home for fear a whistle will blow.

Green is a big loss, but it's inexcusable for them to have fallen so far because of that

It is not as much physical as mental.

Green was the team leader. Hopefully, someone else will step up to that role.

It'll take a few games. Maybe Dye..

Well I didn't see the game or follow it since
I was occupied all afternoon but i hope that
this isn't a replay of Holly's last season as
coach. Love the team. Maybe Losing Green
was a blow. Something for sure is out of kilter.

Key, Horston and Burrell alone should make them a more talented team.

But I don't know if Kiki Smith made the Wooden midyear list, but that's a serious omission if she didn't

I don't think Key is that talented. She's good, but not great. Smith was the best player on the floor by far.

We have talent but currently we lack discipline and that's on the coach. I've never seen Kellie light one of her players up and maybe thats not her style - but the turnovers are glaring and they're not going away.

And Key intentionally took herself out with that 4th foul - she wanted out. That kind of stuff can't be allowed, coach. And she walked by you and you said zip.

The nice thing about this game is that it was never competitive so I never really stressed out over it.

We were dominated from beginning to end.

Good practice for what UConn and SC are about to do to us.

Whatever chemistry issues they have need to be cleaned up. And the turnovers have to stop. FL didn't play defense that much better than a lot of other teams we have played. There was no need to fall to pieces and give poor effort because of it.

This is confusing to me.. how does Jordan Walker, Rae Burrell, and Tamari Key constantly make the same mistakes every single game?? Key gets multiple attempts at the rim but rushes her shot every single time.
Makes it impossible to run the offense through the post. Walker takes jumpers that it doesn’t even seem like she expects to make. Burrell is one of my favorite players.. yet right now she is hurting her value as a player and looking suspect as a teammate.
I really hope she plays through whatever it is. She just doesn’t look the same and it’s not about her athletic ability or health to me.
The player that’s literally hurting is Dye. It’s obvious right now she’s injured.. couldn’t even rebound or move defensively tonight. Someone on this coaching or medical staff needs to step up and make the call to sit her out until she’s healthy enough to play.
For the first time, I’ll say Kellie Harper was badly out coached. The substitution management is the worse I’ve ever seen since I started back following the program.
No, I didn’t follow Holly teams.. but right now what I’m seeing from the sidelines is not good. Even if they win again soon please stop with those postgame celebrations and focus on being a real contender. Signing off for the foreseeable future..

Key is one of the most talented defensive players in the country. FL has NO ONE that affects teams defensively like she does, and nationally probably only Aliyah Boston and Cameron Brink consistently do the same. That's a huge weapon for Tennessee

Our turnovers buried us. They built a lead in the first quarter directly off of our turnovers, and we never recovered because we kept turning it over. We aren't talented enough to overcome a tidal wave of turnovers. The staff and players have to address this issue - and free throw shooting - if we're ever going to get back on track..

Pretty clear they have no idea how to fix it or they would have. And that is a problem because turnovers are something you absolutely can control and improve upon.

A little frustrating considering she shouldn’t be playing.

I think the COVID year of eligibility was a stupid idea. Of course Dye wouldn’t be playing for us either so I suppose it’s a wash.

She IS talented; however, she is not tough enough and not very quick to defend a player.
