Anybody know anything about how many of the Lady Vols are totally vaccinated? The reason asking is because the reason Memphis could not play Saturday is because two players tested positive for covid and after players that were unvaccinated only had four players that could play. If your in the SEC you either have to play or forfeit and you can't play unvaccinated players if someone on the team tests positive. There is no rescheduling this season teams must be available to play on the date or it is a loss.

Think they are all vaccinated the only person I’m not sure about is Tess Darby I dont know if she shares her parents political views

I do sometimes feel frustration that some players seem to not get enough opportunity to play while others get unlimited minutes without much effective play to show for being out there. Not calling out any particular player as we have a few that are not producing what they need to considering the minutes they are getting. Second you hope to get better every game and in game ten of the season we saw the worst half of basketball by a Tennessee team in quite a long while. I would expect something like that to maybe happen occasionally on the road, but never at home. No team should be able to beat you as badly as we got beat in that first half of basketball at home. Also very surprised that we can't shoot better in the arena where we practice and make free throws on the rims that we shoot so many everyday. Players keep saying in the interviews we make them in practice. The problem with that is the ones that they make in practice don't count in the score of a game. Final gripe of the Stanford game our poorest performance of the season.

Should be an excellent opportunity to get the bench some minutes.

Not saying that we need to get fancy or make immediate drastic changes, but the next two games also provide great opportunities to tweak our offense. More penetration and kick-outs, more screening action. Just better shot selection and ball movement in general. More touches means more overall involvement and enthusiasm and wears out the opponent.

In a game like this you want to go with players that need to adjust to the speed of the game and you think have talent that you can develop. If you are an upperclassmen and still haven't been able to break into the rotation then no reason for you to play 20 minutes at the expense of players that may help this year. Of course you want to play everybody, but give the key players that aren't playing now for whatever reason a lot of time on the court.

I expect a big game from our Lady Vols tonight. We need a big game to reshift our focus before Christmas. Key, and Horston, expect y’all to start strong! Go Lady Vols!
I don't...I expect big minutes for the players who have not made good on their chances to this point

Unless Striplin and Wynn become more complete and competent players, this squad will not become a team to compete for any type of championships...These two ladies have not lived up to the expectations many of us (especially me) had for them...

It's time ladies.

She needs to be more aggressive without the ball to get open more

I agree with you 100% on this, And at the same time a game like this ETSU with less talent and athletic ability should be a good practice game for her and regain confidence in knocking down 3`s . Now with that being said can she shoot lights out and defend against the more talented teams ? to be continued. Like i said before it`s not her fault she is in Difficult position right now and ask to play a position she is not comfortable playing the 2g. Played the wing in HS.

I disagree. I think what we have seen from both Wynn and Striplin have been positive. They’ve just not been able to showcase it the way we hope for. Perhaps today, they will get to play more.

Do you think they've had enough opportunities their stats when they have played though limited are better than some of the players getting huge minutes. Karoline is 45 from he field and 75 from the line in her limited minutes and Wynn is 42 percent and just 56 percent from the line on 9 tries. I can agree that they appear not ready since they are not playing more, but tonight would be a great time to let them have some time to get better.

Tennessee has the luxury of waiting a year for Wynn. Not sure Striplin is needed this year either. I'm not sure where she fits in. PF is covered with Dye/Puckett/Green, and Green can back-up Tamari at C if need be. Unless Striplin can become demonstrably better than those first 3, then she can take her time for when it's her turn next year.

I think freshmen tend to be a little timid the first two or three times out. Ducharme was that way for UConn think she has settled in now ready to play. Same for Puckett first two or three games looked a little like a deer in headlights now she is starting to come up as a much needed player. Puckett was my pick for breakout player from that class and Wynn was my second choice. Miles was my last and she has been really great in the last two games averaging 8 ppg and 3 of 4 from the three. I figured Karoline may get some minutes even if behind Key and Green looks like Puckett got that job inside when Key or Green are not in the game.

No argument from me Striplin was highly recruited put big numbers on the HS level Wynn to.

We really need to get our bench players significant time over the next 2 games.

ETSU would struggle with a D2 team atm so there is no excuse for not utterly dominating them.

Still want to see us clean up turnovers and see more overall movement from this team.

Your expectations of freshman coming into a major program are wholly unrealistic.

I’d like us run our offense like Stanford

I feel better remembering that while our offense isn’t stellar, the Lady Vols DID manage to outscore Stanford in the second half, 37-31. Stanford winning the first half by 17 was obviously a killer, but after Tennessee got past the nerves and buckled down, they handled the defending national champions pretty well.

I would definitely classify this as a rare, true “good loss” because there are so many things the team and staff will learn from it. Stanford runs some things that now, having seen it, will be a huge help going forward.

Does anyone know why dye is not able to play 30 minutes like the starters? she seams to me get winded. how many minuets did she play for troy? dye needs as many shoots as horston and rae. When rae gets back

Hard to say whether the starters get a lot of minutes. If they come out and get a big lead in the 1st Q, I'd say Kellie might keep the core in and work the bench in a couple at a time unless it gets out of hand. Offensive flow, passing, and working through the entire offense without someone trying for highlight reel material is what I would work on.
