Yes...exactly! Until we get our act togther (if we do???), Belmont would pount us right now.

Chattanooga plays four starters for basically the whole game. They rotate two in the fifth spot. A seventh might grab a minute or two at most.

Use our depth to wear them out. Press Press Press!!!! Take the fight to the enemy. Don't sit back and allow them to shorten the game. We are slow, but much taller. Let Key, Hoghead, Striplen serve as rim protectors....and release the rest of them as dogs of fury!
Hoghead? Really?

I'm like 99.9 percent sure it won't be Tennessee. I give that little .1 percent in case he has a rich buddy Tennessee fan willing to pay the 2.5 million salary that he would require. He is on a big downward trend of 0 recruits in 2023 just like us and another five star just got in the transfer portal. He has three fours seasons at over two million remaining at Louisville which they have to pay him and no one else will. So no he is not leaving there he will collect those millions and see what happens in the years to come.
You left out he’s a big jerk.

if only we had played Justine 30 minutes per game we would now be undefeated. Why does Kellie choose to lose by not not playing Justine 30 minutes per game?

can't say much about what/why/how Kellie does what she does.
I would have to work on the floor with her to do that.
So far she is an enigma to me...A riddle I can't solve.
But know this, I back her 100
As long as she is in this position, I will back her and try to see her vision

The only "unless" in that equation is if "I" feel she is retracing our former coach's steps

It might have something to do that in many of Justine;'s appearances, she has looked lost, failed to defend, and has been a TO machine.

Now, we do have a chicken or egg problem-- if she had more consistent time, would she start to find her groove? Honestly, I think she might have suffered PTSD. She has looked really nervous in these early season games, though she did seem more composed against EKU.

Justine she has been getting her number called more in recent games so it seems that the staff is bringing her along slowly. Sometimes kids coming out of college just aren't ready coming in the door and need some adjustment time to the speed of play and understanding their role.

The idea that this team would be undefeated if Kellie had only the good sense to play a nervous freshman who can't defend 30 minutes a game is not grounded in reality.

IMO, Justine has the potential to be great in the future. But going into tonight's game, she is not in our top ten players.

She does give us a catch and shoot 3-point threat. But, needs time to develop the remainder of her skills.

Well stated! At this point, I'm looking for the 7-8 toughest girls to put out there with the tall Key.

Justine is avoiding contact, and seems to have played mostly zone defense in high school.

Would she improve with more minutes? Maybe a little. But, she just needs time in my opinion. Once she becomes more accustomed to lifting weights, adding mass, eating accordingly, and bumping off the boy practice players...she is going to be good. Kinda reminds me of Reggie Miller as a freshman at UCLA.

Our guards have the singular mentality thought of the dog in the Beggin Bacon treat commercial....They have one single thought, which is get to the rim....Got to get to the rim...

Until Justine, or any other 3 point shooter, is regularly fed the ball, at or near the 3 point perimeter, they will struggle....Look at Sara, she knows Kellie wants the ball taken to the rim...It's affecting her confidence in her shot too...She's a mess.

The top teams, like Stanford and that northern team, get to the rim, but they have a strong outside, and 3 point game as well....

GT, one of your funnier posts in a while. Hope you are feeling a little better. Justine will get her shot....I'm sure of it.

LV fans, I won’t miss the game tonight, will be pulling for your team. I’ve grown fond of many of the players on your roster, want to see them do well. I hope Puckett gets a bunch of PT, she is the one nonstarter that I see great potential in. Have said it many times already, she has a little Hondo in her game (the old timers like me will recall that was the nickname for John Havlicek, Celtic legend).

In the right system and circumstances she could really develop into a nice player. If she was in a system like Indiana has currently I bet she would shine. Ok, I’ll shut up now. For you music lovers, there is a best song contest in GT’s potpourri thread going on, various categories, it’s all for fun and comraderie friends. Check it out.

Sara does have some Hondo in her game.

That is the weird thing...we actually have 12-14 players who bring something to the table. But, there is little way to get any rhythm or season long consistency going playing that many girls. So, until some either step up, or others step back, or injuries hit, we are just The Dirty Dozen.

It is Horston, Key, and whichever three look good in warmups.
