I haven’t seen Texas this year. Are they mostly taking legitimate charges, or are they expert floppers? If they’re just particularly good at faking contact, that could be disastrous. It also could be a great time for our players to focus strongly on pulling up for short jumpers in the lane instead of driving all the way into waiting defenders under the basket.

I hate to say it, but after giving up the loss to a beatable West Virginia team, I feel like Texas is a must-win. I would not say that if Tennessee had beaten the Mountaineers, but now I think we HAVE to get a non-conference win over a team we’re not supposed to beat for us to have any hope of gaining respect and momentum going into SEC play.

After the WVU loss someone posted a graphic that showed Tennessee was the ONLY SEC team to lose their game in the SEC/Big XII Challenge. It made me cringe HARD. We really need to get one back.

Texas is coached by Vic, who's MSST teams were experts at drawing charges. I don't think they were floppers; they just read the offense well and moved into position quickly. From the two Texas games I've seen, they are much the same.

I agree Texas is a must-win at this point. They need at least 1 decent/good OOC win, and between UConn, Indiana (rumored) and Texas...I think this is by far the most winnable game. I think it also goes beyond momentum/respect. If they go 0-4 vs. this OOC group, I don't see them making the tournament unless they find a way to beat SC, MSST, UK, TAMU or Arkansas and don't slip up against the likes of Alabama, Missouri, Georgia, or Ole Miss...all of which are teams they could easily lose to.

Texas has no post depth, little size on the bench, and their guards aren't that good. They have a much better coach, but even the best of coaches can only work with what's on the court...and for Vic, that's really just Collier. Tennessee really needs to come out on top here.

Collier is by far Texas’ best player and we will see if our staff have the smarts to take the game out of her hands. We will need better post play. Davis will need to live up to her Wade Trophy hype. I still believe Burrell will score her points but she is going to need scoring help. Horston has the skill set to have a good game if she plays under control and not become a turnover machine. Most of all we have to eliminate needless turnovers. We have the ability to win this game.

This is going to be a good match up. Celeste Taylor is a player on the perimeter to watch, she’s made great strides from her freshman year to this year. Audrey Warren is the kind of kid everyone wants on their team, she’s selfless, does the little things right and works her tail off...with that being said, if we take care of the basketball and play interior defense, we can be them by 10. It’ll be disappointing if we don’t take care of the Longhorns today.

Were playing more intelligent basketball than we did when Holly was coach but we still have a long way to go in getting to where we need to be making the smart play. After only two first half turnovers versus Furman we came out and committed 12. We were doing a lot of lineup changes but that doesn't seem to matter as every game we turn it over a lot and foul way to much. If you want to have a chance to win you can't turn it over and you can't put teams on the foul line. If we keep doing this today look for another loss.

It don't matter who she starts
as long as she subs in the correct group before we get +4 down
I see Rennia, Rae, Jordan H, TK and either JoJo W or KG as my starting five
Probably KG, so we can weakside double Collier early if we have to,,,however, I give TK a chance, as she has shown that given the task she can defend any post,,,it is when she is doubted that she doubts herself

Pretty anxious for this matchup. Hopeful it’s a close game and we play well. If we play well and lose it stings but it’s better than not showing up. Felt like there were stretches in the WV game that really let us down.

Been saying it for years, but if we will just play 40 minutes of basketball we will be in business.
