Game Thread Lady Vols at Alabama

I think that DD should just pass to the open player on the perimeter, give it up on the break and just fill a lane. Because everybody is turning the ball over and but not everybody is getting pulled. DD's pass to Russell inside was bad. Maybe she thought Russell would turn to the ball and establish position on the smaller Bama player but she didn't. In the couple of games I saw her play at UNC Mavunga would establish position early so that pass was an option, still no excuse for the bad pass.

Reynolds turned it over right after that but stay in the game while DD got pulled.

But looking at this offense, still no flow and the zone will always be effective against an offense that just passes on the perimeter. The commentators made a great point tonight when they said everybody was turning it over so its a team problem which is an offensive system problem... Everybody is forcing the ball into areas where there are no passing lanes.

They are forcing the ball down to a big women who is not very skilled right now. And the commentator that made the point about Lockwood working well with centers in the past, look at who he had to work with in the past.... Parker, Snow and the likes who were more athletic than Russell as well as more fluid.....

It's time for a coaching change because when you have 8 HS AA's and they are losing to teams who have never beat you in the past this season, it's time for a coaching change.

You get this sort of effort when the players have nothing and no one to play for. They have no hope and do not believe there will be improvement.

They know Holly is on the hot seat and they are not giving the effort to save her. That is telling. I have never seen a coach turn a situation like this around in any sport.

Once the players give up....there is no hope for a coaching staff NONE

This is sad to watch the ball to go inside this many times and watch all of the off balance shots by Russell. Is DD this bad that run Carter and Cooper out as your guards?

And the only reason why Alabama is struggling right now is because they are not that good to start with. They shouldn't even have to press against a team like this...

The decision is very easy. Hart doesn't have the stones.

Are you guys serious? Hart doesn't have the stones??

This AD is in the middle of a civil war war where the Debbie Jennings mafia is behind the scenes co-opting what should be a serious and properly dealt with issue for personal gain to avenge old grudges by trying to bring down the AD at all costs.

Do you know what hell would reign down on him if they tried to take the program away from a "friend of Pat". Holly is a useful idiot for him. The faster she burns the program down the better for him so they can be done with this crew once and for all. Holly is going no where.

:eek:lol:

I agree it's a no brainer - I just know that with Holly's loyalty and years of service to the university, Hart will not pull the plug easily-he'll want to give her more time.

More time to do what, tear down this program even further. No recruits coming in next year, it's a great time to cut ties with Holly. Otherwise, this progr will fall even farther back, just like football did under Dooley

Firing a useless head coach is not sexist or sexual harassment. If that is Hart's excuse for no action, it is only an excuse. Keeping an inept head coach shows a lack of support of the LV program. If that is Mr. Hart's plan he can not support his fear of a sexual harassment complaint for his action. He needs to grow a pair.

AL in man to man D. Set up the ole picket fence for an easy jump shot. Wait a minute. We didn't score a field goal in 2Q. Sorry. Bad idea....

NO field golds in the 2nd quarter!!! That is a new low. I've never seen anything like this. This team has quit on Holly.

The team may lack confidence and be in a season-long funk. But we played a pretty decent first quarter--or halfway decent. The players did not just decide after the first quarter to "quit"--that's nonsense. We're just a BAD team. We've been bad all year. We have had a quarter in practically every game this year when we stink up the joint and essentially lose the game. For a good part of the season it was either the third or fourth quarter. Tonight it was the second--3 points! No FGS!. More specifically, we have to be one of the WORST offensive teams in America. I started calling out the BAD offensive coaching in this program /five years before PS retired/--if not before that. PS couldn't coach offense. It was obvious, I railed about it. PS NEVER FIXED IT. HW has the same defense-first philosophy and has been BLIND to our offensive ineptitude since she started. We scored 48 points against Maryland in the Elite Game--offensive cost us the game. Everybody said, oh, it was the injuries. No, our coaches are clueless when it comes to coaching offense. Even so, in BB you can do a lot of things on your own, coaching or no coaching--but our players can't even do that. Maybe we'll score 45 tonight--if we rally--and win!

Okay.... Now I see where the players can lose respect for this coach.... I the first half, DD turned the ball over, pulled. Got beat on a back door, pulled.

Carter just turned it over on the lob and then got beat on the inbound, stays in the game.

And to listen to the announcers say Warlick had them running suicides in pregame to get their attention is a team that is not focused and just going through the motions. Suicides are for practice and preseason not pregame with two games left in the season.
