Game Thread Lady Vols at Alabama

Well he should be canned no doubt. I'm just saying given the dynamic on campus there's no way he's firing her.

I think at this point that keeping Holly would be a Title IX violation because no men's coach would be retained under these circumstances.

The team may lack confidence and be in a season-long funk. But we played a pretty decent first quarter--or halfway decent. The players did not just decide after the first quarter to "quit"--that's nonsense. We're just a BAD team. We've been bad all year. We have had a quarter in practically every game this year when we stink up the joint and essentially lose the game. For a good part of the season it was either the third or fourth quarter. Tonight it was the second--3 points! No FGS!. More specifically, we have to be one of the WORST offensive teams in America. I started calling out the BAD offensive coaching in this program /five years before PS retired/--if not before that. PS couldn't coach offense. It was obvious, I railed about it. PS NEVER FIXED IT. HW has the same defense-first philosophy and has been BLIND to our offensive ineptitude since she started. We scored 48 points against Maryland in the Elite Game--offensive cost us the game. Everybody said, oh, it was the injuries. No, our coaches are clueless when it comes to coaching offense. Even so, in BB you can do a lot of things on your own, coaching or no coaching--but our players can't even do that. Maybe we'll score 45 tonight--if we rally--and win!

I agree with everything you said. Pat emphasized defense and gave a lick and a promise to offense. However, she was a great motivator and team leader. She was able to overcame the team offensive lack with these skills. Holly does not have these skills. This is why the team will have a won-loss record of 16-12 after this game.

Holly won 80 percent of the LV games in her first three years as HC because the LVs were a more mature team that did nor require a lot of leadership skills.
