Game Thread Lady Vols at Alabama

The team has no leader.

It was obvious during certain plays when players would jack up shots or miss boxing out. When it happened, as it often does, no one ripped them a new one or calmed them during chaos.

They lack the cohesion that a leader brings. The Lady Vols often play like five ladies who are playing together for the first time. There are moments of unison, but they are few and far between. Each player seems to be concerned with doing her own thing.

This will be one interesting season.

The players didn't box out or rebound because they didn't want to. They played like they hate Holly. And it showed. Game over Tennessee lost again.

Margo, pleading with everyone to not blame Holly is futile. The Lady Vols lost to Alabama two years in a row. Let that sink in for a minute.

Tennessee is no longer a team to be reckoned with. Y'all can forget it. So sad.

So what happened to DeShields, who got hurt early.

And what happened to Nared, who played, but badly. 1-12? good grief. She was playing well and has stunk up the gym in the last three games.

If DeShields is out for any length of time, the Lady Vols will be lucky to make it to the NCAA Tournament.

I think crystal dangerfield is looking like a genius right now. I used to get mad at Tennessee born and bred kids who went to another state. Now I hate to say it but I think I would do the same thing. Something is going on with this team. They have all checked out and as a lifetime LV fan, I'm about ready to check out too.

Nared looks like the tank is out of gas. Some of those shots she threw up last night didn't even hit the rim 24 minutes 4 points and 3 rebounds 1 of 12 from the field.
Dunbar 14 minutes of nothing 0 for 2 and 0 rebounds
Jackson 17 minutes 0 points and 1 rebound
Your talking about two players that played 31 minutes and contributed 0 points and 1 rebound.
Reynolds had 7 points in 38 minutes of play and 2 rebounds.
No way to win with three players playing 69 minutes and getting a total of 7 points and 3 rebounds. Add Nared's bad game and you now have 93 minutes played 11 points and 5 rebounds.
If we had players to replace Reynolds, Jackson and Dunbar I am sure Holly plays them that year when we didn't recruit is playing a huge part in what is happening this season on the road.

Those stats are disturbing.
I can't help but think there is something else going on with Nared.
Up until the last few games, she had been our most consistent performer. However, recently her games haven't been just bad, they have been dreadful. Imo, she is either injured, sick or there is a deep psychological rift in this team that has severly affected her play.
I could be wrong but, I don't think that just being tired would result in such poor play, over a string of games.

Holly is going to single handily destroy one of the most storied programs in NCAA history. All the while the AD just sits by and watches it happen. It's like it's ok for mediocrity to set in at the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE.

Just finished watching SEC NOW and Nell Fortner has Diamond on All SEC team ....Andy Sanders, Jaime Nared? No sir Nared has disappointed the past 3 games. Nells team destroys Andy's.
