Notre Dame scored 89 tonight against UNC. I thought ND was a little down this year but they move the ball and can shoot--they don't spend half the game stumbling around and making dumb decisions like our players. When are Izzy and Graves going to get the fact that you don't pass up an open 8 foot jumper and instead try to dribble closer to the basket, in traffic, which usually results in a blocked shot, bad miss or turnover? You cannot dribble the ball toward the basket from 8 feet away--not with front court defenders near you. And yet they still try to do this. Burdick and Carter know how to catch, go up and shoot a basketball--no dribble. Fundamental. Will be interesting to see how we stack up against a good, fundamentally sound team like ND. Fundamental soundless is not exactly our forte, alas. Sometimes we are, a lot of times we are not. Our performances should not vary so wildly--not with a veteran team.
