Game Thread: LADY VOLS AT AUBURN

Remember when ten would have lost a game like this? You don’t have to look far it happened when we were 7-9 last season. This year we improved in the SEC by 3 wins to be 10-6.

Not happy or content with where we are but this above .500 feeling feels much better than last year’s.
True we are better but still a long way to go. I think these players really are difficult to teach. Like fouling a three point shooter on that last play. I am sure they were told not to foul a three point shooter. Still we managed ten SEC wins not an easy task still we need a player or two before next season that is experienced and effective.

I have never seen such sorry passing and certainly cannot stop turnovers! Also they stand around way too much. Davis doesn’t work hard enough to get open. Watching good teams, they are constantly circling, and by doing this, usually someone will get opened.
I was at the Vandy game and they were constantly on the move and fighting for position.

We played “50 ways to lose a winnable game”, but won anyway. I’ll take it any day, but at some point, these redundant mistakes have to become a thing of the past. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen a fix yet!

Auburn shoots 29 percent and almost beats us shooting 43 percent. Not being able to take care of the ball has been painful this season.

I doubt anybody here thinks that Harper told them to foul the three point shooter. The shot was missed regardless may not have been a foul but you really couldn't give these Refs a chance to call anything worst crew of the season.

Foul call was a flop, but Rennia did not have to extend her arm and allow a bad call. This foul and Horton foul almost cost them the game. Shame on Kellie for not teaching them defensive fundamentals on how not to foul especially in close games.
These girls have been playing b-ball for a long, long time....it’s on them for being dumb as hell and not understanding that you can’t even have the illusion of committing a foul on a 3 point shooter and on a player away from the ball with .6 seconds. I promise you Kellie and the other coaches were telling them not to foul in any shape, form or fashion. That’s not on Kellie, that’s on 2 really talented, but dumb basketball players who should know better.

Speaks to the toughness of the SEC this season that there was a 4-way tie for 3rd place essentially. We were the only one of those teams that didn’t knock off a ranked opponent in SEC play though.

Everyone thought this would be a really down season for the SEC in pre-season. I think A&M was projected to win the conference. SC is way better than most anticipated, Kentucky is much better this season, MSST has played tough as usual, A&M is good and would have a better record if Carter had not missed some games, Arkansas is one of the best scoring teams in the country, we are one of the better defensive teams (yes, honestly, by the numbers we are), Alabama has had their best team in years, LSU is also a team you don’t want to play.

It was a very physical SEC season with poor officiating. Little changed on that front.
