Geno's response to players not giving their all against a less than average Memphis team. This sounds like something CPS would've done, maybe Holly could pull a page from either CPS' or Geno's book; otherwise, she should get used to coaching average teams with goals of reaching the sweet 16 and at best the elite 8.

"This isn't some subliminal message I'm sending to them where I expect them to read between the lines," Auriemma said. "This is very flat out."

He said he didn't care "if you're the national player of the year or the greatest thing that's ever walked the face of the Earth playing basketball. There's a certain level of play that I've been accustomed to at Connecticut. If you're not there, then you're not playing."
I think that Holly is way too nice. I can't see her pulling a player like Stewart, how many times have you seen LV players make silly mistakes but continue to play? Holly needs to add a little bit of meanest to her coaching style besides the one she occasionally shows toward refs. Crossing your arms and puffing up like a bullfrog just does not seem like the effective way to correct mental mistakes and sloppy playing.

Holly had Simmons on a shorter leash than Pat did. There were games where she came out of the gates out of control and Holly pulled her out to get her to settle down, but it was too little too late to change Meighan's DNA.

As far as pulling a player and sitting them for the rest of the game...she did that to Nia Moore at the expense of the Texas game. So she's done it before. Nia was playing the best basketball out of everyone on the team at that point, so that was a big statement.

Not sure anyone hear cares what he has to say. If he likes running up the score on inferior opponents (which make up the majority of their schedule), that's his business.

He was in a great position to pull them out of the game against Memphis. He could beat Memphis with any five on his roster. He is just trying to pump them up for SC. I know he wants a 30 point win over them because they are number one. He is hoping this move will give these two players extra incentive to play at another level Monday night. It is all BS from him. I've seen those two players play a lot never seen them give bad effort.

Didn't watch that game, but the few times I've seen Stewart play, I was impressed. Very good ball player, seems to have a lot of class (she seems to be a lady, just not a Lady:)), and like you said, always gave a good effort. I think it's hype too. Rev them up, and worse case:dance2:for Uconn, have an excuse for SC beating them at home.

I am still waiting for both teams to run some offense. Ugly game so far. Maybe once the Vols get warmed up things will improve.

When tournament time comes we can't take Izzy out if she's hot like this. She will just have to play through fatigue.

The only time Middleton should touch the ball is when she is ready to shoot.

It's easy to guard us when Izzy is being doubled and we aren't hitting outside shots.

Izzy is out because she has 2 fouls. They let her play with 2 for a while.
7 turnovers, no practice time in Fla's gym before the game - They're playing badly
We are still not rebounding strongly
Jordan now has 2 fouls

Hard to believe this is the same team that played ND. Why do we always play down to our opponent's level?
