Tennessee (20-10, 12-3 SEC) travels to Memorial Coliseum in Lexington to close out the regular season on Sunday with a 2:02 p.m. ET contest vs. Kentucky (10-17, 2-13 SEC). The matchup will mark the final basketball game in the historic venue before it undergoes major renovations during the offseason.
The Lady Vols enter the afternoon assured of a third-place finish in league play for the fourth consecutive season. They have earned a No. 3 seed and double bye into the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C., and are slated to play at approximately 8:15 p.m. ET on Friday against the winner of Thursday's game between the No. 6 seed vs. the victor of the No. 11/14 match-up. UT has won its most league games in a campaign since going 15-1 and claiming the SEC regular season crown in 2014-15.
The Wildcats are tied with Texas A&M in 13th place entering Sunday's action and would currently get the No. 14 seed and play the No. 11 seed on Wednesday.
This will mark the 74th meeting between these programs, with UT holding a 57-16 series advantage, including 21-10 vs. UK in contests played in Lexington.
UT has won four of its past six games and 16 of its past 21, with the only losses during that span coming at No. 3 Stanford (77-70), vs. No. 4 UConn (84-67), at No. 5 LSU (76-68), at 19-8 Mississippi State (91-90 2OT) and vs. No. 1/1 South Carolina (73-60).
On Thursday evening, the Lady Vols led top-ranked South Carolina 19-10 entering the second quarter, but the Gamecocks outscored UT 49-22 during the middle two frames and held on for a 73-60 victory in Knoxville.
The Wildcats, meanwhile, dropped a 74-67 decision on the road at Texas A&M Thursday night, with the Aggies winning the rebounding and points in the paint statistical categories by 46-29 and 38-24 counts, respectively. UK comes into Sunday's tilt having dropped its last six games and eight of its last nine.

Her Hoop Stats: 77-66

RealTime RPI: 84-65

I'm going 75-57. Kentucky has only won one SEC home game all year, a 23-point win over Missouri, but they can still be competitive (e.g., they were only down by 4 at halftime at home to South Carolina, and by 8 going into the 4th quarter before South Carolina's dominance took over for a 29-point win).

Anybody think Izzy gets fired this year. If so think we go after Benton or any others on team

Play good D for 4 quarters and this game should be ours. I'd love to see our supporting cast of Striplin, Darby, Hollingshed and Powell all score double digits so they get some confidence going into the SEC tournament. I'd also like to see Puckett and some others get considerable minutes.

I read an article saying sisters on the Miami basketball team have a million dollar NIL deal. I think that is split 500,000 each and is probably spread out over 2 or 3 years.
My point is, if Miami can do this why can’t RK and JH get an NIL deal here that would pay them more than they would make for a year or even 2 in the WNBA? Maybe they will.
I really have mixed feelings about NIL. I think players or anyone should get paid the market value of their NIL but I don’t like the idea of players becoming mercenaries and playing at a school primarily for the NIL deal. This off season will be interesting anyway with the transfer portal and NIL.

Back to the Kentucky game. Should be one of our easiest games but hope we aren’t to overconfident.

Because they don’t look like the playboy twins

Quickly becoming the glaring issue with NIL in women’s sports. Supposed to be about the athletes and it’s quickly becoming about sex and marketability.

NIL in women's sports was never about the athletes and always about sex/marketability, right from the get-go. There's a reason that the sponsors were hot and heavy to sign the Cavinder Twins to NIL deals, and it wasn't because of their basketball accolades. Same with Olivia Dunne (LSU gymnastics) and Sunisa Lee (Auburn gymnastics). There may be the great player here and there that is deemed to have some marketability and get some small local deals, but the big dollars are going to the ladies who know that sex sells and are creating a brand that is gonna pay them big dollars regardless of how good they are at their sport.

Hard to measure how many turnovers or bad decisions this team will make. If they make enough of them could be a close game. So knowing it could go either way hard to predict how the game will go. Kentucky has only two SEC wins so you can't lose this game it would be more of a season killer than we've already experienced.

The twins initial NIL deals at Fresno St. were based on the millions following the on social media. Companies want their deals with those that can have the greatest reach. Companies aren’t too concerned about being the best player but most followers. Players like Paige Bueckers are the best of both worlds.

They had a big time booster that facilitated that deal and caused some problems for the team. Miami is on probation for a year with some recruiting restrictions and fines
