Now this makes a lot of sense. We had rather be 13-10 and 4-6 in SEC than 18-5, 8-1. Yeah, that sounds like a real good trade. Man, can't believe some people.

Holly will do just fine, thank you.

That was some awful officiating. It doesn't get a whole lot worse than that.

Someone needs to test Ariel for color blindness because she seems to have trouble recognizing her own team's jersies. I would have them do nothing but passing drills the next few days.

Really poor game. We had no answer for 6'5" but we still would have won comfortably with crisp passing and fewer stupid turnovers.

You could tell both teams had absolutely no energy at the end. We were lucky there were a lot of stoppages of play in this game to let us catch our breath. We need to get a second wind for the stretch run because these last two games have been real stinkers. KY will run us out of the gym if we play like this.

But I will say this... this is a scrappy bunch of players. They pulled it out at the end. I can't remember the last game winning bucket we have made. For all of the talent the last group had you could rely on them to fold at the end. But not this group. They may stink it up sometimes and they may be thin on numbers and worn out but they still pulled out the win.

Kudos to the girls for gutting it out. Let's see if we can improve our play some now.

This makes no sense. Caldwell would NOT be 13-10 with the talent we have. What makes you think Holly will do just fine? She's had two years (let's be honest) and done nothing but underachieve so far.

Pat couldn't even motivate that last group of seniors we had...for some reason they just didn't get it....except glory she was the only one...and poor vicki was always hurt

I think you are correct if the game matched up our team as it stands now and their team earlier in the year but I'm not so sure now. I've checked out a few of their games--they've been living on the edge for several games now with loses to SC and UGA and near escapes versus LSU and Arkansas. They look fatigued in my opinion. I'm not sure that 40 minutes of hell mantra that Mitchell preaches really works in the womens game. They sputtered out last year around this time, but backed into the title.

I've watched the replay of Last night's ending about 20 times now and still am amazed. Graves had 3 LSU players all over her on the shot but got it up & in. Simmons with the quick hands? 9 times out of 10, some blind ref calls a quick foul on that play. And LSU missing the free throws? Surely the big guy upstairs had a orange hand out on that...

HKV, from reading some of your posts, I wonder if you 1) ever played a team sport and 2) if you understand or even enjoy the game of basketball. In reading your posts, sometimes I think you're one of those people who just need to vent & b*tch so you use a basketball game as an excuse.

Who gives a $@*! if she celebrated w/ the team??? I've seen Nikki do the same thing when her team has won a tough game. You need to cut Holly some slack. She is not & will not ever be Pat, nor do I want her to try to be.

I was one of Holly's biggest critics & initially was NOT happy that she was chosen as head coach. I don't particularly care for her crazy sub patterns at times & there are definitely areas in need of improvement, but it's her FIRST YEAR!! I like her enthusiasm & I like that she's different. And if there was any doubt about how tough Holly is on them, Taber has said she is way tougher on them in practice and in regards to the conditioning program than Pat was.

Considering this team (before injuries) started 3 sophomores, a freshman and a junior, was picked to be 5th in the SEC and adding on all the injuries, I think for a first year coach, she's done a damn good job.

They didn't play particularly well, but they played hard, played w/out a post player for almost 10 minutes, started a player who is still recovering from a broken shooting hand & still managed to pull out a road win. Was it pretty? Um, no. But it's a win.

Congrats to LSU on a tough game. Plaisance is impressive & Ballard is gonna be a game changer once she gets some experience. She really impressed me. I don't know what it is about these two teams, but it doesn't matter who is coaching, more often than not, it seems to go down to the wire."

I say right in regards to celebrating with the team a victory, not a well played victory! :)


She has a lot of work to do.

For some reason I couldn't go to sleep after the game. Been a while since we have had such an exciting ending. Great ending!
