Game Thread Lady Vols at LSU

we have absolutely no player that we can turn to for instant offense. it's comical really. I've never seen a coach do less with more than HW.

This is another terrible performance happening a lot lately team has regressed and looking a lot like last seasons team. I think were in for some bad losses rest of the season no reason to play this bad against an average team.

LSU definitely getting away with lots of push-offs on their offensive rebounds. Lady Vols need to start selling it.

Still, no excuse for our horrible play on offense and for not getting back to play defense.

The Tigers has the momentum.

Another loss appears evident. I hope not but it's kind of looking that way. Lady Vols are playing so soft.

How many hundreds of rebounds has LSU gotten?

Don't we have any rebounders?

Don't I remember that Pat drilled rebounds?

the egos on this must be extremely fragile. seems like if they aren't treated exactly how they want to be then they just quit playing.

Everybody and their mama know that Cedes is going to see the double team. We have someone on the bench that’ll change that and she hasn’t played since the second quarter.

It feels like many of our players, for whatever reason, don't square up properly for a shot. I think that by itself is a big contributor to poor shooting % with having a mediocre offense probably a close #2 reason.

I’ve said it for years. Early part of the year the new players play great - indicative of their talent. About halfway thru the season Holly’s persistent coaching kicks in and this is the result you see.

Additionally, teams with more athleticism and natural ability can pick up a lot of wins early in the year, when the other teams haven't gelled or practiced enough to execute their game plans. Everyone's trying to implement their systems and determine lineups, and there's a margin in there for teams who can just outrun and outgun less gifted opponents. As you get further in the year, the teams who commit to their systems and learn to play together catch up; it becomes a little less about individual skills and little more about playing together. And the teams that learn to play together are the ones who survive in March.

I've watched most all the players, hustle down the floor on offense, but stick it low, running back on defense. Our coach used to have us race from free throw line to free throw line. The winner go to sit and watch til everyone finished. That's the speed he expected everyone to be in getting back on defense. If you loafed back on defense, you sat until splinters started growing into your a$$!
