iMO Holly coached a pretty good game. Point, blank period...Izyy is our best player. She's one of the best offensive post in the country. Had Izzy hit her shots...we would have had a chance to win this game...there was a stretch where Izzy missed some shots and ND pushed it down court and scored....say Izzy hits those....different game, IMO!

Also this team sorelyyyyyy missed Jasmine Jones in this game! When Carter needed a break...we had no one to slow down Lloyd! Whose an All-American in my eyes! I think Jasmine's height and long wing-span could have POSSIBLY bothered LLyod.

Bright spots were Graves and Carter....idk where Graves disappeared to in the 2nd half...I do blame Holly for continuing to go to Izzy and not trying to come out the gate and try going to Graves. She was hot in the first half....why not switch it up and let Graves do some damage and let the game come to Izzy.

Bottom.line....we stayed in this game because of Graves's first half and Andraya's guard play...Ariel helped us with some outside shots. It hurt us on defense. Cierra played tough....we lost this gamed IMO bc of Izzy's performance and lack of defense (missing Jones here) on Jewel Llyod.......

If Jasmine Jones is back by tournament time and Izzy actually shows up in a big game.......my money is on Tenn on a neutral court in the NCAAs

Izzy needs to apologize to the rest of the team. She let them down in a big way tonight. Coaching puts you in position for 2 foot layups but it's up to the player to make it. She needs to own this loss. ND had a great night shooting. Some wild shots put up fell but we were still in the game even with some stupid turnovers and blown lay ups. I really thought we would win this game and I believe we would have if Izzy had shown up tonight. Time to snap and clear and tame the Tigers.

my takeaway is if TN wants to go far Harrison has to show up, TN had 3 other players in double figures 4-15 from your best player, for this years team won't cut it. She flat out missed at least 10 shots inches from the basket

Lady Vols played hard tonight,but not as smart as they should have. For some years now,the opposing team's star has really burned our Ladies,while our star becomes like Cinderella at midnight. Those factors were in sharp detail tonight and along with one team going to the free throw line 27 times and the other team going 10 times in a game that was not that much different in defensive aggressiveness by the teams seemed to dictate the story of the game. I do see improvement in the Lady Vols,but I do think they need a floor leader (player) who will tell the others when they hurt the team. Now if we can use this as a stepping stone to get better,it will be worthwhile. Go Lady Vols!

Yes, its almost like the last remaining hump, the killer instinct. You have to believe you can do it. We looked like an unsure team, and I know a few player performance puzzled Holly tonight. If Izzy is on. We win this game.

Getting to the final 4 is so much a mental hurdle, losing to a team so many times in a row is a mental hurdle.

I cant be mad at Holly,the players have to play. I thought Reynolds should have played more minutes at the 1, Ariel should have been at the 2 but against tall, physical athletic guards,it can be a chore for Ariel, but our defense and rebounding was poor. And the rotation tonite was different this game, when a coach panics and goes outside the norm, then a team responds accordingly. Was Reynolds hurt?

I cant believe our All American candidate post player got out played by a freshman and a soph. When I saw Turner beat Izzy down the court for a layup. I knew we were in trouble. Graves plays like that,consistently watch out.

Izzy is playing like a player who is putting too much pressure on herself, I gotta do this, I gotta do that. Izzy just play basketball. I hope this lost don't linger too long for Izzy. We need you.

Tonight, Izzy let her offense effect her defense and it was noticeable. Oh well, we're still mental midgets. Its not easy building a killer instinct, when you lose to a team you were suppose beat on paper.

This team goes as far as Izzy takes them. And that's the pressure of being the go to player, she has to embrace it rather than let it be a hinderance.


Defense, rebounding and good guard play win championships. Ok, and your go to player showing up.

Notre Dame out played us. We were so indecisive on both ends of the floor. The refs didn't blow this game. We got beat by a better team. ughhhhj

Don't blame the refs. Holly had the Vols intentionally foul Notre Dame, repeatedly, at the end of the game. The Vols would not have to do that if they were up 20 at the end of every game!

You don't win many game when you allow a team to shoot 58 percent from the field. The fact that we were able to score 77 was amazing to me. If you told me we would score 77 in this game I would have called it a win.

The Vols only play good defense against the bottom feeders. Against a quality opponent, the weaknesses of Holly's system become obvious. UConn held Notre Dame to 31% shooting. The ladies could learn from watching film of that game.

Izzy had a bad game and there isn't really anybody to come in and take over,Nia did look good in the first half but didn't see a whole lot of minutes in the 2nd half,again,this is were Russell is missed,post play is what caused the Lady Vols to lose this game,the shots were there,but they wasn't made

would it have been enough to win the game ? who knows and I do have to give credit to ND for shooting lights out in the first half,make no doubts about it,they are a good team

but so are the Lady Vols,there is still a lot of basketball to be played and I do hope Jasmine is able to come back and play this year

I am hoping the coaches learned something from this game. The main thing being we can't guard top players in the man to man. Want ever happen. We have to keep them out of the paint with the zone and hope they fail shooting perimeter shots. We can play man to man with the lesser teams but players that have slashers we better go zone.

The contested jumpers that Loyd and Reimer were making last night were shots that they were missing against UConn. Same look, different result. I don't necessarily think that it was the defense.

The back door cuts that Loyd, Turner and Allen were getting is a different story...

Hard to play "Tn. defense" when you can't "breathe" on your opponent without it being a foul. But it all right for them to knock you down, jump on your back or hack your arm on a shot. :(

I think there were 4 intentional fouls towards the end. Certainly leaves quite a discrepancy in the number of FT's between the two teams

It wasn't on the refs. For the first 39 minutes there were 14 fouls called on the Vols to 12 called on ND. It was the missed layups.

The missed layups cost us the game point blank. Furthermore, I wonder how some of the individuals on this thread succeeded in sports with all this negativity. I understand the frustration but in sports you have to be positive and not give up. Reading some these comments makes me think that the fans don't believe in this program at all. I'm sure other fans come on here and laugh at us.
