Game Thread Lady Vols at Notre Dame

If we can see the defense played against Mizzou (contesting 3's) and the offense showcased versus Auburn, this team could shock the world. Holly has totally lost her squad, so her presence in the building will have little to do with the outcome.

It's time for this overrated collection of McDonald All-America imposters (thus far in their collective careers, sans DD, our only legit elite talent) to step up and show some pride. Bash should woman-up and put this team on her back, get over her shyness and take it to ND.

The Irish aren't unbeatable. We only need to have the "pressure" mindset, offensive patience and a set of good mental blinders to block out the distractions.

I'll be watching and hoping for the best. All things are possible with the proper attitude and determination. I'm predicting an upset: LVs by three in a great game!

Go LVs!

I too believe that this game is winnable however, this team is too inconsistent and while I do hope for the best, I am also conditioned to expect the worst. I'll take a win no matter how they get it but ultimately it will be more about what they do with a win that counts. A loss….well, a loss just helps along what a lot of people are already saying on VolNation.

We all said the same thing before the Oregon State game and we see how that turned out.

For some inexplicable reason, Oregon State played man defense instead of zone. That is why they lost that game. Didn't their coach watch any tape? Muffet is too smart for that.

Watch us win this game....

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Tennessee won this game. At the start of the season, I picked them to win once Jewell Loyd packed up for the WNBA...and that was back when they had Taya Reimer. They are the more talented team on paper.

Question is...do they play up to their capabilities, or do they continue to look completely lost on the court.

If by chance they do pull it together and win, I hope they use the win to create momentum and not promptly turn around and lose to Vandy. That's been their issue this year...there is no pattern in predicting how they will do. They will look like a Top 5 team one night, and then a team not worthy of being in the tournament the next.

If Notre Dame plays man defense this game is winnable .The only way they play man is if Duffy has not watched any film.If they play zone then this game will probably be embarrassing to all LV fans.

We all said the same thing before the Oregon State game and we see how that turned out.

A win only helps if the team moves forward, not backward. Otherwise, it's just a fluke loss for ND.

I didn't say that about the OSU game but I've seen ND & OSU play. ND isn't OSU. This is going to be a major embarrassment - on nat TV

I think we'll play for a half watch out for that third and fourth quarter. It has been where the other coach makes some adjustments and we fail to find a way to answer any of them.

I won't be shocked with any outcome. We could get thrashed, and we might just show up with a real chip on our shoulders and boat race the Irish. You never know what you'll get with this bunch. If I were ND, I'd be nervous as hades to be facing the LV's after such an embarrassing performance.

only way tn could make ND nervous is if they put on UCONN uniforms and holly wears a GENO mask.

Odds are at some point in the game we will start folding like a cheap suitcase....that is our pattern.

We struggle to score 60 off a mediocre team. What does Massey know that I don't?

An awful lot of SEC teams struggle to score 60 against mediocre teams. Look at today's scores:

South Carolina 59, Texas A&M 58
Kentucky 54, Auburn 47
Florida 53, LSU 45
Arkansas 64, Missouri 52

How do any of these teams expect to beat Notre Dame?

I think you guys are wrong. Arkansas was an embarrassment and I bet this team comes out focused, at least on defense. I would not be surprised to see us lose, but I also would not be surprised to see the MOV be between 10-15 points. ND has not lit the world on fire this year either...

Don't see this happening against the ND team that is super motivated for a NC.

I see very bad things.

TA&M really blew the end of the game against SC. With 3 seconds left on the clock and behind by two, A&M throws a length of the court pass and scores on a layup to the score at 58 all. Inexplicably, an A&M player literally half-tackles an SC player on the inbounds with one second on the clock. She apparently thought A&M was still behind. SC hits a free throw and wins 59-58.

Arkansas has now beaten TA&M, Tennessee, and Missouri in conference play. Really, not too shabby for a bad team.

SC is the class of the conference, however. They can look pretty pedestrian at times, but really, I don't see how they can fail to win both the regular season and tournament titles. It'll be a big choke on their part if they don't. And choke is an apt description of how they win - they slowly choke the life out of their opponent.

If the LV drive the ball and shoot some mid range shots, they could have a good offensive performance against Notre Dame tomorrow night.

No question, we have the players to beat ND, however, to do that every player must play up to their ability. Of course coaching can and will make a difference. Holly cannot afford to send in questionable lineups. Holly has to do what seems impossible, either out coach McGraw or coach on par with her. Added to the coaching, players MUST make intelligent shot selections. Excuse me for being redundant, but I can't believe that such miracles will happen.

if Tn drives the ball into the paint and tries to shoot layups against Turner, she will have the record for blocks in a game for all time.

Oregon St scores 28 points in the 4th qtr and beats Stanford 58-50.

The LV's beat OSU who beats Stanford but the LV's get clobbered by Stanford. Jekyll and Hyde.
