It was almost four years ago...TN vs ND in South Bend. PS was on the bench but Warlick was the defacto head coach. Skylar Diggins darted around our listless defenders like we were wax statues and went off for 27 points. We were confused trying to run our offensive sets and shot hesitantly, and poorly. The Irish spanked us 72-44 and it could've been worse.
Some of those same issues plague us to this day, sadly.
Duke (13-6) has lost three of its past five games to Syracuse, Louisville and NC State and has fallen out of the rankings. They had the third longest active streak of being ranked behind Tennessee and UConn.
Not to sound like a broken record, but the main stat you need to look at just about every game with this team is turnovers. If we can keep it less than 10, then I like our chances against anyone. If we hit our average of 18, 19, or 20 or whatever it is now, then don't expect them to win against a team who knows what they are doing.
Wow we have 4 teams in the SEC rank higher then Tennessee, 2.-South Carolina,
9.- Kentucky, 10.- Mississippi State, and 13.- Texas A&M, has this ever happen before.
18.- Tennessee, 22.- Florida, and 23.- Missouri. At least the SEC looks good.
So who is Warlick's first sub of the night? She puts in Cooper, who has been very bad ALL YEAR against zone defenses. Did I mention that we are a DUMB team?
Russell needs to stop playing garden-party basketball. The girl needs some attitude. This is her second year, too--that is what is bothersome about her style of play.
