Game Thread Lady Vols at Ole Miss

These Tennessee Lady Vols are as nice and beautiful team as could ever be assembled. No one should ever accuse them of having killer instinct or wanting things said about them that might hurt their feelings. And so they play in a rather cautious and dainty, lady like fashion. No one of them wants to dominate any other individual, or attempt to be a team leader or be very aggressive.
It is time for no more "Miss Nice Girls."

This was not holly fault. These women have no desire. when you miss layups time and again that is a lack of focus and from the start tennessee was not focused. If there is one thing I would say that making behind the back passes cuts the switch off. In the MS State game they started their comeback with Nared's behind the back folly. You ignite a team when you do that, because you are showing that you have no respect for them or competition. This is a very good team but there is not a definition of roles on the team. They must also realize that each possession should be treated as if you are behind. If there is one thing that I have learned in my 60 plus years is that you cannot turn the competition switch on, then off, then back on. Once it has been turned off it stays off. The main culprits of no discipline is Middleton, Deshields, and Jackson. If the team can understand that you must respect your opponent and value every possession. When they play like that sit them for the rest of the game. Losses will taper when we can control turnovers and start to compete. When we compete we are as good as anyone in the country, but this nonchalant attitude is deep in this team. GO LADYVOLS!!!!!

Who coaches the players? That is Holly, the buck stops at her desk. If she have no control over how her players play then she is at fault. Only she can get in their face and correct their behavior. We are way to willing to throw players under the bus when Holly is driving the bus. If she can't correct the situation then she should quit. This inept playing is all on Holly.

Yes and HW will hold on to a timeout and carry them home with her rather than stop a run. That is not a turn on or turn off by any of the players. I am agreeing the players must step up and this team will not. I really believe that if MR and DD will move on then we can start the 5 recruits and let Cooper lead them. HW has ruined this group.

32 Automatic bids which include 5 P5 conference winners plus likely the BE and AAC conference winners which will likely be ranked and maybe the A10 conference winner as well - that leaves 24 or 25 unranked automatic bids that get in. 32 at large bids minus the 17 or 18 other ranked teams that are not automatic bids leaves only 14 or 15 free spots - that an unranked team is competing for. So ... TN needs to be one of those that are typically in the 26-40 range of teams. Right now TN is easily in that range. And the Stanford and KY wins will look better than most of those other teams will have. But ... too many nights like this one which will be seen as a bad loss to add to the loss to PSU, and it could get dicy.
I think TN will get the benefit of the doubt in most cases.

And then Holly will have the excuse that she "only" has 8 McD AAs, and that's why they lost 14 games.

it's been how many years now???? may as well stop getting worked up about the Lady Vols and this coaching staff. there hasn't been any leadershp in years. anytime it's mentioned how awful and uninspired the Lady Vols are, Holly's faithful attack. One thing is clear and undeniable. Holly is no Pat Summitt - not even close. I honestly believe that Pat Summitt cared more about the team than she did her pride and before she allowed the team to fail, she'd rather step aside. Oh, I must have forgotten, she did.

I for one used to despise the very mention of UCONN, but it's no denying that what Geno is requiring (demanding) at UCONN, is what Pat Summitt brought to women's basketball - EXCELLENCE!!! Every year, Holly talks about trying to get back to the final four. Pat Summitt talked about winning a national championship. Holly is playing the likes of UNCW, ETSU, Tn State, James Madison. Pat Summitt would've had Duke, Maryland, UNC, Rutgers, on the schedule. She looked for non-conference foes who would push them to their limit. Holly wants to blowout some of these cupcakes, to make people believe the team is improving vs following Pat's example and playing some challenging teams. If you want to be the best, you play the best. The best anyone can do now, is just be honest about the state of Lady Vols basketball.

The Lady Vols SOS is getting worse each year. :eek: :mad: :thud:

🗣It's not Holly' fa...🔇 Please stop it already. We've acknowledged there's a problem it's the same ones that plagued this team last year and still the problem has only amassed. If her constant answer to how to fix the problems is I don't know then you're da*n right the burden will lie at her feet and rightfully so.

If this team would quit playing cocky and play as a team for starters they would be better. If they would quit throwing dumb passes and turning the ball over for stupid reasons they would be better. If these girls had any pride for the name on the front of their jersey and the empty chair on the bench with CPS name on it they would be better. And if the coach had a pair she would take a step back and admit she has no idea what to do to make these girls better. Its sickening to watch and no the outcome before it happens.

Team is a mess. No coaching leadership, no player leaders, bad tactics, low IQ, low effort, can't shoot, DD is a head-case and abject underachiever, others have no mental toughness. Players do not respond to Warlick---big problem. It is a top-to-bottom mess. Warlick after losses now is hard to watch: She's like a PoW who's about to be blindfolded, given one last cigarette and stood up against a wall.

I am a coach and am very proud of this very true and tried adage,,,

"Teams take on the personality of their coach"

I wear that verbal badge with honor.

If you take on my personality, you never EVER give anything but full effort, when it is called for. If I am fully down and getting kicked in the mouth, I still try to bite your toe off... This is the fight I bring as a coach. Assistant or otherwise!

I don't care a flipping lick if the incoming highly ranked class bolts, I want to never ever ever ever see Holly in charge of the TENNESSEE LADY VOLs again. She has NO ability to lead this team other than in reverse.

This is just a BAD group of girls. They say the Same **** every game , we aint play hard we don't communicate, so there being taught these things but your not doing it . MY mom would always say you can take a horse to the water but you can't make him drink. I AM READY FOR THESE GIRLS TO LEAVE I AM SOOO READY , DIAMOND FADES IN THE BACK , IF SHE IS SOOO AN ALPHA THEN SHE WOULD WANT TO TAKE OVER SEEING HER TEAM STRUGGLE . NO PLAYER ON THIS TEAM WANTS TO LEAD AT ALL YOU NEED AN ON COURT LEADER

Middleton is NOt good at all I mean she can not hold the ball , There is no offense rhythm when she is in the game and that is saying lot and Dunbar can't guard a 80 year old man the team can't guard a 60 year old man

Tennessee had the game in hand until Middleton started being loose with the ball, took a couple of bad shots and the offense and defense went into the crapper. Meanwhile, Holly stood by with her hands on her hips..

game over!

When did MeMe become the reincarnation of Jazmine Jones for not catching a pass, throwing the ball into the bottom of the backboard during a layup and committing the dumbest of fouls?
