Against a team that shoots as poorly as Rutgers it works well enough.

20 offensive rebounds has nothing to do with your opponents shooting, and I know we shot poorly, but at least we showed a better effort on the boards today. Big win!!

Good win. Still, we won't beat anybody good with this crappy offense--28 percent shooting. And neither will Rutgers, the only big-name program that historically has had a worse offense than us. We need to get Carter going offensively, among other issues.

It was inexplicable that Jones didn't play down the stretch. Unless she was hurt.

Girls showed more toughness today than any game this year. Real ugly game Rutgers has no outside shooters the zone squashed their offense. We can't score either but we got them in foul trouble and made a couple big plays inside.

Switching to that zone was one of Holly's better decisions this year.

This game gives me a little hope that Holly is listening to somebody. Even if we had lost I thought there was a little better ball movement. A little strange with her substitution patterns and her love affair with Burdick besides.

She always has hustle. If she would mostly limit to rebounds, defense and scrub points like there at the end she would fit her role well. Her taking the ball one on one against anybody is usually a disaster.

Wow! Hard fought game by our Lady Vols. Sometimes there are games that you can't throw the ball in the ocean. To try to overcome a subterranean shooting effort,you must play hard,control the boards and not give your opponent good looks at the basket. Our Ladies did that and pulled out a good victory at a tough place to play. Hopefully,this will imprint itself on their memories,and they'll realize what they can do playing this way. Holly's coaching was adequate today. She kept trying different players to try and find a hot shooter,but there was none. So she can definitely talk about effort and maybe the 500 or so shots she expects of the players every day. Congrats,Lady Vols,and may this be the first of many of these games for the rest of the year.
