We did everything we could to lose that game.
We have a couple of plays for back door cuts by Draya. Just didn't work that time.
I can't nitpick any particular player, coach, play, or strategy for tonight's loss. Overall, we played very well without a center against a much bigger team. Kudos to our players who all played tough all night.
It's not like we were naturally the better team or ever had it under control. Kind of hard to do on the road vs #2 in the nation. In fact, if anything we made a hell of an effort to win it at the end. We had our fair share of mistakes, but considering the circumstances, this comment seems a bit harsh.
abused us in this game. She abused Reynolds, who is only an inch shorter and has pretty good size herself. Usually, Mass is the lazy one on defense--but Reynolds was poor tonight on defense. No excuse for getting beat all night.
Our guard play is not Championship level. Sweet 16 for this team. hmmm Way to fight ladies, a couple more threes we win this game.
Welp, let's enjoy the rest of the season, cos to me all spots are open for next year, no one is a fasho starter and that sounds good.
Beastshaara great game. Burdick great game. Beastshaara be careful what you show us cos now we're gonna expect it all the time.
Our bench is young and will go as far as Burdick and Graves carry us. A perfect opportunity for our guards yo seize the moment, Reynolds and Carter both will have to play like All Sec performers in order for us to advance far.
Yep Defense, Rebounds and guard play win championships. Remember when we had good to great guards....aah the days.
Listen...I think you guys win on a neutral court. We are not national championship ready yet. This game proved to me that Tennessee, UCONN and maybe Notre Dame will win out over us in the NCAA tournament if things don't change for us. Just my Gamecock loving opinion.
no one will beat UConn. The gap in talent is almost laughable. Notre Dame might give them a fight but I just don't see it. They play a nothing schedule all year so everyone is rested and injury free come tourney time.
Reynolds did not block out all night and that cost us. You can turn and watch the ball when it goes up; you have to turn and find the nearest SC player and throw your body into her. Reynolds is big enough to do that with anybody--but she didn't tonight. On almost every replay that showed SC getting an offensive rebound, somebody--often Welch--was running past Reynolds standing and looking at the rim. It wasn't all on Reynolds, but she was bad. SC is beatable, but we'll have to rebound better.
I don't think Moore played at all tonight, did she? I expected her PT to go down drastically tonight but not completely. The staff will need to assess how much of a factor fatigue played in this game. It is hard to say. There were a bunch of TV timeouts, which help, but we looked sluggish to start the second half--and you often see tired players stop blocking out. A game effort, however. Carter, Graves and Burdick, in particular, were stout.

I thought our guards played pretty damn well. How many did Mitchell score against UConn? About 35? I think we have great guards.
I think an error on Holly's part not getting Moore and Dunbar at least a couple of minutes. Dunbar is not going to improve unless you challenge her against the best.
