Game Thread Lady Vols at South Carolina

If our guards were good, we could win this game. Ugh, our guards are not well rounded players yet, who are productive on both sides of the ball.

I thought this would be they're coming out party, that's not the kind of effort we need to win a sec championship

Games like this shows that Hollys ceiling as a coach is very limited, Moore needs to play in a game like this regardless of how bad of a player she is, she can't do any worst than Reynolds and Massengale right now, and why did it take Nared so long to return to the game?

How do we get into this position with no posts on the team except Russell? We've got to recruit some posts.

Warlick has played 6 players. We will never beat a top team with a 6 player rotation. She will have to take a chance and give Moore and Dunbar and Middleton some minutes. What made it worse is that the first half was very fast-paced--not good when you are playing six.

Actually this game shows me Holly has what it takes. She just needs to recruit some posts.

she tried to play middleton but she is lost.

We got to recruit some players, who want to win and compete every play. Next year recruits will push this year group

I see this game as a long-term changing of the guard. South Carolina has become the class of the SEC and I don't see anyone doing anything to change that anytime soon.

Moore is not good--but you've got to give the starters a breather and take a chance with her getting some minutes. And play Dunbar 3 minutes too, and Middleton.

Women's basketball and Softball suffer from eerily similar issues of roster...for lack of another word I'll call it mismanagement.

We're scoring well enough to be right in the game. Defense is another story. 95% of women's teams aren't as big and physical as SC, but they are giving us problems. When they do miss a jumper, they get second and third chances to score.

If you look at her demeanor and how she acts during timeouts it looks to me like Elzy is the coach of this team & not Holly, Holly just has final say

We're not losing because of our guard play. We're losing because their big players are having a field day. Abiam, Welsch, and Wilson are 18-29, and they're +10 on the boards.

Middleton just can't play. Doesn't matter what the reason is, confidence or athleticism, she is just a huge liability.

Moore can help and Dunbar could be used for her skills in spots.

but we are missing 3--rpt 3--of our top 8 players, and they are all front-line players (Harrison, Russell and Jones). If we had them, or even two of them, this game would be a lot different. We wouldn't be killed on the boards.

Plus the state of South Carolina has had a great run the last couple of years with high school players which has helped them.
