Seems like some of the freshmen are hitting a wall this weekend hitting has not been that good in any game. I know were facing much better competition.

seems like some of the veterans are as well. we knew Utah and Texas was a step up in competition. OU was a revenge game

If I had to play us with my team I would throw left handers if have them every game. We just struggle with the always

Well not much good to say, the team did fight back a little bit. Gregg got screwed on the interference call, but it's impossible to say what effect that had on the final score. Arnold pitched poorly at the start of the game she couldn't find her spots. It didn't help that the UMP had a moving Strike Zone from left to right. She was consistent top to bottom, left and right she was all over the place

When Moss came in she struggled with that a little bit she finally just started throwing hard strikes and changes straight down the middle Texas caught one of them for the fourth run.

Tennessee's batters never caught up to the Texas pitcher, she seemed hittable to me but it was not to be today.

Well now that the competition has ramped up we see that the Tennessee team has a bit of work to do. The hitters cooled off quite a bit. And the pitchers had trouble with some of the opposing batters.

All of the batters are going to have to do a better job of understanding what the opposing pitcher is throwing. Gregg for instance will almost always be started out with a pitch outside followed up by pitch right on her fist. That's the pattern to pitch to her.

All of the batters need to do a better job understanding the opposing pitchers pattern of off-speed stuff vs high-speed stuff. In the last two games the Tennessee batters had called strikes against them or swung badly and missed at change after change after change. They offspeed stuff seemed to really fool them.

13-2 heading home after two weeks on the road not bad at all....the two losses are to teams that will be in the NCAA tourney so not so bad....got some things to work on when they practice Tuesday-Wednesday....If you're in the Knoxville area please go out and support this team!!
