I just don’t understand how our pitching is so average after all these top 3 recruiting classes.

Pitchers that we recruited have been rated too high and some or a lot are head cases from what I see. Every team seems to have at least 4 that can throw but we cannot even get 3 who are consistent. Ralph says that pitching is the holy grail but we cant get more than one a year. We need to get away from this slapper syndrome and recruit more hitters if our pitchers are not going to keep us in the game.

We didn't bring our A game today, and we're looking rattled. A rain delay is exactly what we need.

It rather obvious that whoever is evaluating pitchers is clueless and the Coach cannot coach them up

Hitting is the first problem today. That being said the only thing that will fix pitching is for Ralph and Karen to hire a top notch pitching coach and then GET OUT OF THE WAY. And I love Ralph and Karen but I disagree on how they organizationally handled duties on the staff. Now you have Marty as pitching coach, Karen calls pitches, Ralph pulls them. Too many chickens in the hen house. I don’t think it’s a coincidence the two best programs over the past 10 years are teams where the assistant, Jen Rocha (UF) and Missy Lombardi (OU)have been given control over pitchers.

If you were paying attention the other night when Barnhill gave up 4 runs they asked Walton what he said to her and he said nothing. That’s Jens job—I stay out of the way. For a position that’s probably half mental I think helps the pitcher focus to have to focus/worry about one coach in the dugout.

They would never give someone else that much control. They love pulling the levers, and being on TV, too much.

Just thinkwhere would be without MG hitting like she has. I agree and disagree. Two HRs may very well win this game and one may which is on the pitcher whoever it is. Then again if our hitters could or would drive the ball we would not be behind since we have left runners on as Karen said. I look at some of the young hitters throughout the SEC as well as other places tearing the ball up. Freshmen and sophomore's ripping the ball all over the park. We have a couple put seems like everyone else has several. Its kind of chicken and egg type thing I guess.:thud:

3 hits in a row and nuttin. 4-0 bottom of 5th and add a stolen base in there as well:mf_surrender:

4-2 top of 6th. pitching change. 2 outs 3 hits and no hosing by ump so far this inning. that other one is going to prove critical I am afraid. Never any recourse when there is a blatant miss as that one was at 3rd.
runner on 2nd weimer bating

Leach walks and Holcomb batting, I am not sure why! She walks that is why.:thud: Gregg needs to hit a 3 run homer
