Game Thread Lady Vols Softball Team NCAA Regionals

It's gonna be hard to win two more games today but it can be done if the girls have focus & determination to get it done.....GBO!!

At least we beat the crap out of Ohio State just like basketball. Now can we score any runs against Arizona?

Can't believe some of you still are blaming Geer for losing that game. It was one AB. There was others that didn't use the bat either the entire game.

Another player whom I can't remember right now also kept the bat on her shoulder except for one pitch & struck out too. I'll say it again. Geer DID NOT cost us that game!

It takes nine players to win or lose. Notwithstanding, when your cleanup hitter stands with her bat on her shoulder while three strikes go by,with a runner on second and cannot advance the runner, and the next hitter hits a high hopper that the go ahead run would have scored on had the aforementioned runner been on third via a bunt or ground ball to the right side of the infield, then she must shoulder the responsibility of failing to move the runner. That did not lose the game, but certainly could have won it,as things turned out.

Couple of teary eyed OSU players right next to me..tough when you realize you won't ever put on the uni again

Gabriel and Moss will have to both be stellar for us to have a chance. Gabriel has not exactly been known for her stamina, and she's already pitched four today. And Moss is a freshman. Between our thin pitching and having to face their lefties, it will be an uphill slog. Sure would be nice to win the first and put some pressure on them.

If we can find a way to beat O'Toole in this first game, then she'll have to pitch the second as well and maybe fatigue will affect her. But we'll have to score some runs in this game, for a change.

They showed a good stat showing how lefty pitchers are dominating in the post-season for several teams--oklahoma, florida has one who is good, and so does oregon and arizona, as we well know.

I love the Weeklys, they do a helluva job--but where are our sophomore and/or junior pitchers? We have a couple of seniors and a couple of freshmen and nobody in between. Not good. How did that happen? We should also have a lefty pitcher ourselves. We're good and we have talent--but we are not quite as well-balanced on the mound or at the plate as you'd like to be, so that we can counter any team's strength with a strength of our own. We are thin on the mound and too many left hitters. But win anyway!
