I agree. I do not really like Meyers, maybe its the brashness, but he is close if not the best coach in the SEC softball. I like the Weeklys and would hate to think where we would be without them, but they are at best 4th or 5th on that list. They are good honest coaches who care a lot about the girls on and off the field and in life. When the Awbarn catcher who was talking about one of the coaches son's who has moved on to MLB you could see in her eyes and her voice how much she had been taught about catching and hitting and life that she was nearly speechless. They have the attitude that they cannot be beat and that is all because of the Meyer people. I wish we had a coach that could teach hitting and defense like they have. Madison very well may be that person but she has to have the authority to do it. As I have said before we have to recruit and sign better pitchers. I know we have some good ones coming but we got caught in a crack by throwing all the chips on Erin. Always have to prepare for the unexpected and the ole injury bug hit us like it does the LVS basketball team.
Meyers may beat OU and it would not bother me but I predicted OU on this site to win it all over AU and I still think they have the best team. Gasso has done wonders with her freshman recruits. With her getting paid $ 300,000 a season or more she has really produced!!

Almost my exact words from a year ago when he showed up. I was amazed at how quickly he turned Auburn around with the same players who were mediocre before his arrival. Tell me it is about recruiting.

Coach Myers and Auburn are certainly doing something right. On paper, looks like the NCG's will/should be good. Auburn is poised to take the Natty, but it's hard for me to root against Paige Parker. Give me a couple of Paige Parkers on my pitching rotation any day. The girl has heart, fight and just seems like an all-around good kid.

I'm rooting for OU so bad from little old south Georgia. Geez, man... It burns bad when a practically nobody SEC team makes it to the NC in just three years under Clint Myers and we can't. Ahhh! Sydney Romero may or may not have a little influence on my pulling. I guess all in all, if an SEC team had to take it, I'd want it to be Auburn. At least we can say we were sort-of put out by the best of them. As long as it wasn't Georgia, I was okay. Just seeing OU in the final makes my heart do a happy dance. I really wanted to see an OU/U-M match-up for the natty.

Tennessee has made it twice. Finished 3rd twice as well. We've made it that far before and can again IMO.

Never understand of the mentality of not wanting your conference to win. Did Ohio State winning the national championship hurt the rest of the Big Ten? Does other SEC teams winning baseball hurt us? I'll answer that for you, no.

Of course not. Any team winning a championship from your own conference hurts the other teams in that conference. It hurts in a lot of ways especially in recruiting.

I just don't like Oklahoma. That's my preference for Auburn to win over Oklahoma. I just don't like the Sooners. If it was any other team besides them I would root for them & not Auburn but that's not the case for this years WCWS.

Like or dislike Oklahoma, one thing is for certain, they have one hell of an AD that is either lucky on the hires, knows coaching or both. If OU softball wins the Natty tonight, they have made a pretty decent run this year in the athletic department.

We do recruit most of the same areas here in the South. I find your question to be odd as to why it wouldn't hurt our recruiting.

Auburn also has to overcome the obviously pro-Oklahoma crowd. What a shame a more neutral site for the WCWS can't be utilized.

OU putting on a bunting and hitting clinic. Not sure why Meyers did not start the left hander but it probably would not matter. Today they were not the 2nd best team in the WCWS. Playing about like when we popped them near the end of the season!!

Awbarn may not win but one thing you can say is Meyers kids do not quit and play hard!! Left hander came in and shut OU down so far.

There's enough players for everybody. And, did Alabama and Florida winning hurt our recruiting. We have probably one of the top pitchers in the country coming in year after next and Shipman the year after. We've been getting great freshmen coming in and more coming in next year. So how did Alabama and Florida winning hurt our recruiting?

Also, our last several classes have been ranked way ahead of Auburn's but it sure doesn't seem to have hurt them.

My view is if the SEC keeps winning the best girls in the country want to come play in the SEC. Not just at the winning schools. Plus we go to the WCWS regularly. Another SEC team winning isn't going to change that. It will only help us and continue to raise the level of competition in the SEC.

Clint Myers > Weeklys I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling we missed our opportunity to win a NC and we have been passed up by 2-3 programs in the SEC
