I'm glad Ralph gave her the shot to close it out. To bad it didn't happen but this will help her down the road that the manager has confidence in her.

Moss' nerves got the better of her in the 7th. Still pitched a great game. Just couldn't close it out.

Still love the emergence of Moss. Now if we can get Gabriel up and running and maybe Bush can come on a little we will be formidable.

Man the SEC season is going to be fun...bummer we lost but man what a job by Moss...I'm glad Ralph and Karen stuck with her....guys we're only going to get better as the season goes on

Heart breaking loss but proud of the way they came back from 3 run deficit to take the lead.Was impressed with Moss .....this will be a good experience for her.The more she pitches against competition like Bama the better she will become...imo.

Tough loss today. I am still happy I get to watch softball again. I hope they can keep their chins up because they looked good today.

By the way off topic -Candace Parker is analyst for the Ole Miss Arkansas game. She's a knock out.

We have a sad knack for choking away big games late. If you have a lead in the 7th, you have to win it. We lose big games late a lot--we did it against OKlahoma in the championship series two/three years ago: three run lead in the 11th or whatever inning it was and let them tie it, then win it.

Oh man, I just now got a chance to check the softball result. 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, up 5-3 and lose!!! Aaarrrrggghhh.

Anybody know the details of the error on the rightfielder?

Erin couldn't find the plate in the first inning?

I'm optimistic but I really expected better than a 10-5 record at this point in the season. I expected single digit losses for the whole season.

We had Oklahoma...for some reason the ump at 3rd called the girl safe when Raven clearly had the tag on her...then Chamberlin hit that blast

Really Jeff??? We went 47-17 last year I expect us to end up back in OKC again...that is the big goal

How can anyone be such a sad sack regarding this softball program? How many WCWS have we been to in the last 10 years? Without a doubt the par excellence program at Tennessee.

She dove for a liner and couldn't get it but kept it in front. Then she tried to pick it up and booted it. Then when she finally got it she thought the runner at first wouldn't try to score so she held it and the runner never slowed down.

Am I the only person surprised that Gaffin didn't pitch in the 7th? The coaches usually bring her in at the drop of a hat--but opt to leave Moss in and we lose.

Really. Clean the fielding up. Get the pitching to where it's dominant. Keep the bats going.

Lest you think I don't like this program, I love it. But neither an SEC championship nor a WCWS championship will happen unless the above three things happen.

This program is on the verge...but they're not there yet. The SEC is unbelievably tough. Michigan thinks they should have won last season...and they will be back in OKC this season. UCLA is tough. Oregon has Hawkins back. Oregon just run-ruled Fresno State, the same Fresno State team that manhandled the LV's two weeks ago.

Yes, things will improve. They better. Or Gaffin doesn't get that championship she came to UT to get.
