Am I the only person surprised that Gaffin didn't pitch in the 7th? The coaches usually bring her in at the drop of a hat--but opt to leave Moss in and we lose.

I was surprised also - thats alot to ask of a true freshman P at Alabama

Not really. You have to find out what Moss can do in a tight game sooner or later. Better now than in some title game down the road. I didn't see so I can't comment on her performance, but the winning run was unearned due to the fielding error.

I keep saying the fielding has to be cleaned up. But I didn't expect the error to come from the outfield which has been largely solid.

Really. Clean the fielding up. Get the pitching to where it's dominant. Keep the bats going.

Lest you think I don't like this program, I love it. But neither an SEC championship nor a WCWS championship will happen unless the above three things happen.

This program is on the verge...but they're not there yet. The SEC is unbelievably tough. Michigan thinks they should have won last season...and they will be back in OKC this season. UCLA is tough. Oregon has Hawkins back. Oregon just run-ruled Fresno State, the same Fresno State team that manhandled the LV's two weeks ago.

Yes, things will improve. They better. Or Gaffin doesn't get that championship she came to UT to get.

Oh I know you love the program...I just don't see single digit losses....Ralph and Karen do a great job of always getting this program playing great at the right time....that is why I'm never worried about them....and I just looked at the commits we have lined up....we'll be alright for years to come :thumbsup:

Geathers tried to make a great play in right on the line drive...and as one of the announcers said...she should have played the ball on the bounce and made sure the second baserunner had no chance of scoring. Can't fault the effort...and Vines tried to make a great play in left earlier in the inning...did manage to throw out the runner at third base for the first out. Freshman Moss looked really good until the bottom of the 7th...has a really bright future in the circle.
