Smokey gray and orange is indeed a fantastic color combo...if your school's primary colors are gray and orange. UT's primary colors are orange and white, thus I prefer that combo and wish the gray was not used or instead was used as an accent color.
However, the school, some athletes, and some fans seem to like it, so I'll try to adjust.![]()
FYP. Hi, LVJeff. What did you think of Jacksonville? Heard next year will be Greenville again. Already made my reservations at our favorite B&B, just in case!
Edit: Oops. Off topic, sorry. Can you tell me in a bball thread?
Go Lady Vols! Don't understand softball :dunno: but can always pull for them in any sport!
I take it you don't like the smokey gray either? So there's two of us!
Softball is a great sport. It requires patience, but I really enjoy it.
Regarding Jacksonville, I was lukewarm on Jacksonville before getting there, I had never visited the city before - and I'm not a Florida fan (Sorry Gule!). It turned out to be great, I have no complaints. I hadn't heard that Greenville is going to be the site next year, but if so I'll be there.
It's OK as an accent or at most a once a year thing. Just like the Lady Vols blue as an accent, not predominately blue uniforms. Heck, we are TENNESSEE and orange and white. Can you just hear the cheer? ORANGE! GREY! ORANGE! GREY!....just seems off some how.
We heard Greenville while in Jacksonville. If so I am more than happy. Tourney at a great B&B and then down to Mount Pleasant for a few days. Close to me, long flight from Montana for you.
I liked Jacksonville fine. Traffic was horrible with all the construction, but hopefully when completed things will be better. Seemed to lack restaurants, but we did go to the Fish Camp (who recommended that in another thread?) and enjoyed it. Might be just where we stayed though.
Gule, how is your mother in law? Hope she is better.
I noticed the construction but walked everywhere I went so was mostly unaffected by it. I also noticed the lack of restaurants but I generally don't eat in them so that, too, didn't bother me. I also thought maybe I just didn't know where they where.
I enjoyed the river walk and the concert and the weather was of course great. I stayed at the Hampton Inn across the river. Lots of fans in orange. Maybe you were one of them.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the gigantic Maxwell House coffee plant next to the arena. Did you like the smell of roasting coffee beans?
Does soccer have the gray uni's too?? or just the checkerboard, orange, and white ones?
