I am amazed that either of our pitchers got called for an illegal pitch. I have watched them an enormous amount of games and I have not seen anything close to an illegal pitch. Florida should never go there their pitcher has gotten away with a definitely illegal delivery and continues to do so today.
Way to get the bats going girls and stop the crap that whomever was trying to instigate on our team and pitchers.

Bearden got a hit....about time

Also that's what I like to see McSwain being called off the bench and coming through when called upon

Bearden a base hit let's hold a parade for her when she gets back to Knoxville it has only been like two months or so since her last hit.

No they called her for two illegal pitches and she was out of the game.

I was unable to listen to the game. Was there some drama or something that attributed to her getting removed as the pitcher, other than the illegal pitches?

The umpire obviously thought something she was doing was illegal....and since Arnold's routine is always the same....they just went ahead and took her out

Karen lit up the umpires in about a five minute argument in which they even got out the rule book. Ralph got into it also then he got into an argument with the Hawaii coach that lasted a few minutes.
Seemed obvious some kind of scam to get Arnold out of the game. Moss had already threw 100 pitches earlier in the day and they went to her for a while then Sprang. She was her usual a little wild but did ok to keep us in the game. Huge 6 run inning ended it all for any Hawaii upset.
I can't ever remember Arnold being called for an illegal pitch whatever they were calling needs to be defined because it hasn't ever been called before and her I've seen her motion a thousand times nothing illegal in my view.

Didn't take her out, was ejected for two "conduct" illegal pitches.

What in the sam hill!!! Boy oh boy....With Karen on the rules committee this happens!! I bet this is the last time the lady vols go out to Hawaii and play and that those umps will be blocked from doing lady vol softball games in the future

I think if someone had a tape of that game those Refs would have some answering to do. Arnold doesn't suddenly become an illegal pitcher after pitching in as many games as she has in her college career.
I think it was a weakly veiled attempt to give Hawaii a shot at an upset of Tennessee at home. Moss has already thrown 100 pitches that day and wasn't going to make it the entire game. Then there was the freshmen who is wild this season and having difficulty staying ahead of hitters.
The 6 run Tennessee 6th made pitching not matter as it broke open a close 5 to 4 game to 10 to 4.

I wish I could have see the game. It is hard for me to picture Caylan Arnold getting ejected for anything. She's got a simple repetitive wind up and motion to the plate. She pitches the same every pitch. Unreal.

Kind of felt like a coverup to me someone trying to collude to win a game over a top rated team. I just don't believe her motion could ever throw and illegal pitch. The fact they knew Moss was not available for many pitches and all we had left was the freshman seemed fishy that they would get our pitcher tossed in the very first inning.

Tennessee starting lineup tonight vs Maryland game one

Leach
Holcomb
Gregg
Seggern
Vines
McSwain
Lockman
Bearden
McClain

Arnold on the mound.

Maryland has Denhart pitching she has a 1.98 era and a 4 and 7 record. Maryland has been a weak hitting team hopefully we score some quick runs and win this one quickly.

Bottom of second coming up still no illegal pitches by Arnold guess she only throws them against Hawaii.

1-1 in the top of the 5th

Bearden was up with the bases loaded...a wild pitch happened which allowed us to tie... then she lined out to 2b.....she has now been replaced by Morgan
