Well, that was an interesting half of basketball. Not sure if the coaching staff or the girls are stuffed with turkey like I am. They sure look lethargic, kinda like they don't want to be there! Someone needs to light a fire or this is gonna end up as a loss!
Now to rattle some of my "friends"...who did the best job coaching this half, Albany or Tennessee?
And if four players are hanging on russell or graves, there are mix matches and gaps all over the floor to attack, nope we settle for a three, a long range three... U make no sense.
Sure there are gaps where you can get a little 10ft jump shot or penetrate and dish. The defense Albany is playing isn't all that good. This is solely about us not knowing how to attack a zone. Our passing and spacing are poor. We don't attack the elbow or reverse the ball. Jones handles the ball way too much. And we throw the ball away trying to get it in to players who are not open.
You are right that we don't have to always take the 3, but we have to be able to hit those when they are giving them to us.
Texas will pound us if we play like this.
exactly, more hi lo action between Graves and Russell, then throw Jones in the high post. but if we quick shoot the basketball, we're not able to take advantage of our height inside or the open lanes that Graves and Russell create when their defender play behind, ijs.
I agree with that. They just played on the back row and tried to post up in the first half. They were never open to receive the ball.
