(WBIR JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) The Tennessee Lady Vols begin postseason play when they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks Thursday night in the second round of the SEC womens basketball tournament.
Tennessee (17-12, 8-8 SEC) enters the tournament as a No. 7 seed. It marks the programs lowest seed in the tournament, according to UT Athletics.
The Lady Vols are coming off of an 80-60 home win against Georgia on Senior Day. Vols redshirt sophomore guard Diamond DeShields scored 22 points while making her first start in more than a month.
DeShields is Tennessees leading scorer at 13.1 points per game.
This season the Lady Vols lost a program-record 12 games, and were knocked out of the AP rankings for the first time since February 1985.

Freshman guard Tea Cooper was the only Lady Vol named as part of the All-SEC womens basketball postseason honors.
Cooper was named to the conferences all-freshman team. She averaged 8.9 points and 2.3 assists per game in 29 contests this season.
Tennessee split the season series against Arkansas, losing 64-59 in Fayetteville on Jan. 14and winning 75-57 in Knoxville on Feb. 4 for Holly Warlicks 100th career victory.
Arkansas (12-17, 7-9 SEC) is the No. 10 seed in the SEC tournament.
The Razorbacks beat Ole Miss 60-49 on Sunday.
Junior forward Jessica Jackson is the Razorbacks leading scorer at 16.6 points per game. Jackson is the SECs third leading scorer this season.
The winner of Thursday nights game will advance to the quarterfinals and will play the No. 2 seed Texas A&M (21-8, 11-5 SEC) at 6 p.m. ET Friday.
Both the Lady Vols and the Razorbacks have lost two of their last three games.
Tennessee leads the all-time series against Arkansas 27-3.

The state of Florida is hosting its first-ever SEC womens tournament.
Last season, the Lady Vols made it to the SEC championship game before falling to South Carolina 62-46.
Tipoff between the Tennessee and Arkansas is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET Thursday at Veterans Memorial Arena, and the game will telecast on the SEC Network.
