Key and Jill playing together!

These are scary times on Rocky Top!!
Eventually Key will get into game shape and back in rhythm, you can see (and it’s expected) it will take a bit for her. The team looks dangerous on offense, lot of weapons, Sara looks ready.

Halftime player interviews were cool, nice touch.

Wynn looks much improved. Her shot looks much better.

Wynn is one of the best athletes in the SEC. She definitely looks like a ball player.

I see how this team beat NC State a week ago in the scrimmage.
Puckett is a good basketball player.
Hollingshead is a good basketball player.
Wells is elite!
S/O to Powell and Darby both of these players have worked in the offseason.

CN pushes the ball on offense and looks for openings, they also shoot the mid-range shots, not done much by major teams including the LVs.

and I, with a smile could add taller players bring the ball down following a rebound.

Striplin isnt an SEC caliber player. Its one game so wont be too hard on Ace. Hometown girl may be trying too hard. Good for Edie getting a bucket!

I am excited seeing Powell, Wynn, Wells, Jillian, Puckett and Jackson playing so well. Add in Spear and Key as the season goes on that's a solid 8 players. Darby will be needed for her 3's to open the lane up down low.

Much better second quarter defensively.

You can really tell a difference with Destinee Wells running the offense! It’s only an exhibition but she looks great so far.

Sara doing a little bit of everything. Has seemed a bit slow when guarding smaller guards but if she plays like this, it will be hard to see Tess continuing to get the start with Spear back.

Hollingshed looks great as well. She’s our best post. Happy to see Tamari getting minutes early as well.

Rickea comfortable as hell in Q2. That transition 3 was a thing of beauty!

Impressed with Kaiya’s improvement thus far. Clearly one of best defenders on the team.

TK is moving well and the more she plays will build her confidence. I don’t believe the rebounding deficit was ever as wide as it has been implied by the staff. I went back and watched film last season of SEC games and Hollingshead-Puckett both were battling for position as well as securing rebounds. They just have to do it consistently night in and night out. Overall, this team has SEC physicality with ACC/Big Ten skill at the guard position with the additions of Destinee Wells and Jewel Spear. Wells has arrived folks.
Her ability to drive to the basket and make shots is elite.
Powell has improved as well.

I haven’t seen enough of Wells yet, but I say I like how she passed to Rickea in the paint, something I didn’t see by any of our Pg’s last season.

The question is can Wells do this against the better athletic Pg’s with a height advantage?
