Good to see the LVs score close to 80 when Nared and Davis were not at their best.
It was interesting that the Lvs took control of the game when they went "small" with Hayes subbing for Davis in the first quarter.
Going forward, it might be important that this team can have different looks and styles depending on the opposition. At times, they were running an essentially four guard offense with Russell in the middle.
I agree that Harris is moving better and looking more prepared than last season. I worry that she and Green seem to have slightly slow reflexes and miss a lot of passes and potential rebounds that come to their hands (Harris a bit more so than Green). But, if they can given to ten to fifteen good minutes of "holding down the fort" when needs a break or has foul issue, that could be the difference in a good versus great season.
And Dang that Mercedes Russell with only 19 pts and 10 boards; a mere double-double. Not even a triple double, which she, at 6-6, should have even before the game starts. In fact, she should be getting a quadruple double every single game, no make that a quintuple double, no make that a sextuplet double, oh wait, there may not be that many statistical categories but, at 6-6, that detail should not stop her. Mercedes should be inventing statistical categories so she can have a Septuplet double, no make that an octuplet double every game. No an octuplet double every half which would be a 16 double every game. What is that called? Google--doesn't seem to be a term. No matter, she should be getting what ever a 16 doubles is. That would be her bare minimum acceptable performance being 6-6 and all.
