Thank you! I agree with EVERYTHING you said! She is still adjusting and redshirting her wont make her any better. We need her to play and get better. This was her second game. We will need her and green this year and especially next year. She has shown flashes of what she can do. Chill out Nega Vols!

Caught a bit of the broadcast and was impressed with Andraya Carter's color commentary. She is /articulate/--makes good points concisely, and uses real sentences when doing so. Very good job by someone new to broadcasting. Not all ex-players can explain the game intelligently; in fact, most cannot. Carter can.

Yep, she is really good, particularly being relatively new to the field. I think she will be moving up the broadcast hierarchy quickly.

Something else she does well is drawing from her player experiences to illuminate the game, without making the broadcast about her.

Mtsuraider, I am so torn here. We know it is a given that the collective wisdom of this board far exceeds the coaching knowledge of the LV staff. So, if they say redshift KK but....

In this one circumstance, I think Holly and company may know what they are doing by not redshirting KK. This team has ten players (and really nine when you factor in here Harris really is) [Side note: I think Draya's game commentary on how Harris is still trying to "figure out the game" was very telling].

The inevitable realities of injuries and games marred by foul trouble mean that there will be times where the LVs need depth in the post.

KK did seem to be a bit behind the game but, from what I have read, she is looking really good in practice and will be able to adjust. It is worth recalling that Nunn (who had several years of NCAA experience) looked like a dear in the headlights during the early part of the season Later in the season, she had some excellent games and was arguably the LV's best player. So, let's not write KK off after her first real test game.

That’s not truth that’s opinion... lol and like buttholes everybody has one. Effort and ball movement are more evident to me than in previous years. Look at the turnover ratio compared to the same two teams we played last year with more seasoned players on the court. Look at the assist number? Has it gone up, gone down, or stayed the same? Look at deflections... Shoot look at how the players run over to help each other up off the ground this year or even the opposing player. I can take aggressive turnover but the just lackidasical turnover from not paying attention are the ones hard to stomach. Look at Annie ... had 8 turnovers first game only 3 this game with 8 assists and even learned from her drives IN THE same game and got into the meat of the defense, attached defender, and kicked out for open 3 to KD (twice) and Meme.

We have a long way to go for sure but to say there is no positive reason to see improvement is a reach. Even if we lose to big schools and beat the teams we are supposed to that’s improvement. But people 👀 what they want to 👀.

i call it being open and honest to what i see - or should i say don't see with this team. we'll see who's blind at the end of the season. why can't people have opinions on this board without some idiot making it personal. i can throw insults all day if that's what gets you off; however, i'd rather keep this amicable.

Cut the girl some slack. She’s a freshmen and outta high school.
I can see her banging in the post and being a bit more mobile once she gets into shape.

For sure. It is all about consistency. Not just for her the whole team. It's not like they didn't know how to compete and play well they beat both of the teams in the championship game last season. The just didn't play with that type of effort all the time.

They were awful on the road last year. I think what will be telling is how they fare in their road games vs quality opponents. They were miserable on the road the last 2 years basically vs anyone. I think both of the last 2 years they had losing road records which obviously if you can't win on the road during the OOC slate & regular season you shouldn't expect to go very far in the NCAA tourney.

They are doing some things better but only time will tell if it all sticks when things get tough. I cannot wait to see them play South Carolina a few times this year. SEC seems to be in a bit of a down year so not sure about too many of the other match ups but for sure South Carolina and Miss State should be good games and probably TAMU as well. Because they are so young I think you'd probably have to wait til about game 15-18 before you could truly say the Jekyll/Hyde persona is gone.

Besides beating the two teams in the finals on their home floor right?

I agree she should be eased in and I also agree she shouldn't replace Russell but I think she needs to see more time and it should be with Russell so that Nared is about to move to her Natural position.

Nared has gotten away with guarding 4's on JMU and ETSU but against better competition it could be a problem and we don't need her picking up 2 quick fouls trying to defend some of the 4's she'll see in the SEC (and some of the tougher OOC opponents).

Green has a motor that Russell simply doesn't have (imo) and she is willing to bang/bruise (and no I am not knocking Russell). I like that Green is willing to go and get rebounds or challenge shot that Russell would normally look at or raise her hands looking to avoid the foul.

I think eventually she replace Meme in the starting Lineup soon. Again no Knock on MeMe but I like how her and Hayes Play with each other like I like how Westbrook and Davis play with each other.

I like the lineup of;

Starters/Bench
G-Westbrook/Hayes
G-Davis/MeMe
C-Russell/KK
F-Green/Harris
F-Nared/KD

Davis is a 4 and plays the 4 when Nared is on the court

Right. Those wins and the experience and knowledge gained from those games unfortunately didn't translate to match ups within the weeks after vs lesser opponents. They had a hard time holding on to the value of those games. It was always three steps forward two steps back. By mid January this team will have a true identity. It looks very promising.

Dont take this the wrong way but I am glad you are not the coach to sit Russell and play green more OMG I WOULD lose it . Green is good and you guys need to remember she has not played for a 1 and a half she needs to be eased into games she will get more minutes but holly is easing her in

Miss a week and it takes two to get back where you were...Miss a year and a half and "bang" you get to replace one of the two girls who represented our country this past summer....Dumb.

Can we all agree that Rennia Davis is going to be something special? They're all going to be special, but I felt like she played hard, and also got in there and cleaned up some garbage for Tennessee. Those sort of players are valuable to teams; the ones who can create from mistakes and change the flow of a rebound attempt or a pass. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy, someone can feel free to contradict me. I kept seeing her be in the right place at the right time. Had a few defensive lapses, but otherwise, she looked like an all around contributor. And that's just Davis. There were other good performances as well, obviously. Just. That Davis. I suspect she's going to be making some highlights for us this year.

I do too and I love the fact that she is a Team player that knows when to turn it on when she needs too. I thought she was going to try to dunk it when she drove past her player on the perimeter and skied for the layup.

I think she dunks at least once this season.

This is the most optimistic I have been about a Lady Vols basketball team in a very long time. I know were going to lose some road games much tougher schedule than last year road games. Probably a couple at home. I do believe by the time we play Texas at home were going to be very tough to beat.

I hope we 9-0 prior to Texas I think we can beat Kentucky and Texas a&m on road but as longboard as we compete I will be so happy that’s what was missing lady few years
