LSU has been underestimated by many in the forum though perhaps not in this thread. I have heard it repeatedly said here that they have no depth, but the assessment in Baton Rouge is they have the best depth they have had since Kim has been there. Their bench has averaged 26.5 points and more so in the two SEC games. Perhaps people who haven't followed them didn't realize that three significant players are finally recovering from injuries including Smith, Wolfenbarger, and Del Rosario, which has given them more depth as the season progresses. To me, they have been erratic at the point guard. The one pg that has been excellent at times is Gilbert. She is extremely quick, has a decent 3 point shot, and can drive and penetrate. She is averaging 16.5 in SEC play. She makes them a complete team when she is playing well. Fortunately for us, she has been extremely inconsistent. So, it is paramount that she has a poor game against the LVs, especially since we can feast on point guards who are not focused. We will need to play a much better game against LSU than we did against OU to win, as LSU with their three All-Americans and a better supporting cast than most people realize will definitely be better than OU. I don't think we will out-rebound them, so I think our best hope is getting many turnovers, playing better defense, and hitting our shots.
